MSHSAA officials see the $5.99 subscription to watch tonight's game and just smirk, thinking, "Rookies, they could easily get $15 - $20 for that and then have a pair of third tier rubes announce it".

On that note of sarcasm and cynicism, safe travels to all who are headed to Arrowhead this evening for the game. Have fun, cheer hard, stay warm, don't be "that guy" that takes off their shirt to get on camera. If you are "that guy", paint your MoSports handle across your chest so we can put a face with a name. If Bosko is reading this, we'll figure it out without the name.

Bosko is rebooking his flights to and from Buffalo.

Funny story. Had Peacock since I don’t know when. Turned it on and said no access due to many devices. Come to find out we shared this account with our daughter. My son in laws family had asked for the account just for the game. In the end I had to fork out the $6.00😂

I was there! Wouldn't have made it the entire game without heated clothing. Those are a total game changer
A buddy that went up said security was hassling folks with a certain kind of battery for the heated clothing. You must not of had a problem or else they got tired of arguing. Was it just crazy, stupid cold? Walking the dog this morning at -5 confirmed I made the correct decision by staying home. But hats off to you and the folks that went, we could hear you on TV!

I had a bag full of back up batteries, one plugged in my shirt, and two batteries on my calves. One for each sock. I had to go over to another scanner and they checked my bag. Didn't get much of a hassle.

It was absolutely crazy, stupid cold. The "warming stations" were a joke. We went to two different locations. One had 2 small torpedo heaters. The other only had 1 large, circular fan heater. It was just enough to say, 'We will have warming stations.'

I think it ironic that the NFL sold us the game on "Peacock". I guess were thinking about using condoms when they were doing what they did to us.

NBC announced its ratings for the Peacock-exclusive NFL Playoff game between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night.

The network boasted some massive numbers for the game, which aired exclusively on NBC’s streaming service. According to NBC, the wild-card round game was the most streamed event of any kind ever in the United States, with more than 23 million viewers tuning in.

Worst thing that could have happened. Won't be the last I'm sure

Trust me eventually they want us to pay to watch all sports events.

They knew exactly what they were doing, of course. We failed to send the message that would have, if not stopped, then maybe slowed down this nonsense. I'm just glad I live in-market and didn't have to spend any extra on Peacock.

They are realizing that not only can they keep raising the prices of game tickets, hot dogs, parking, etc, but also how to charge to get games on TV. NFL is a money printing machine. Have to give it to them, the owners are filthy rich, but find ways to get the public to pay large amounts of their stadiums, have fans pay for PSL's, get more and more $ for TV rights, etc. Great business if you can get into it

Guess my question is, if it wasn't the Chiefs (or the team you support) would you pay $XX to watch? While I watched most of the Pittsburgh/Buffalo game due to it's bearing on the Chiefs, I wouldn't have paid to watch either one of yesterday's games or most first round wildcard games, for that matter. A divisional game? I might pay. The conference championships and Super Bowl? I'd probably pay.
But I'm old enough to remember watching Ali vs Leon Spinks on regular tv and everyone knew Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Hitman Hearns, Ken Norton, Frazier, etc. PPV hurt boxing and then MMA put it down for the count. (Pun intended) Could that eventually happen to football, don't know. But there has to be a point where consumers back off. And the most infuriating part? This rolls downhill and soon we'll be paying for college football like we are for the NFL and (shake my head) MSHSAA sports.

It began with AMAZON PRIME taking over Thursday night NFL in 2022.

The top 56 most watched network tv sporting events in 2023 were NFL games. #57 was Ohio State v Michigan.

More Americans watched NFL games on TV in 2023 than any other programming, accounting for 93 of the 100 highest rated shows. The dominance of the NFL with viewers is continuing. Anthony Crupi of Sportico notes in 2022, the NFL accounted for 82 of the top 100 telecasts. In 2021 the NFL had 75 of the top 100 shows and had numbered 72 in 2020. In addition, Sports Media Watch notes, for the 2023 regular season, the NFL had 17 games surpassing 25 million viewers, compared to nine in 2022.

I paid the money. I guess when it really comes down to it I don't care that much about the chiefs I just wanted to see the game.

It’s only going to get worse in the coming years.
This is what happens as we get older.. as one guy likes to remind us older folk on here. I remember my grandad lamenting on this, no more full service gas stations, no more milk man, having to bag your own grocery's. Would complain about things all the time changing.

Technology changes and along with so does the youth and what they want and unfortunately that is whom business' cater too. My kids love streaming services and along with that streaming games the can watch them anywhere on anything. No longer are you tied to the tv in your house. It's only us older ones who complain. But I remember when ESPN started having exclusive rights to some games people complained but now nobody says a word.

I don't even have cable anymore no need just put a TV antenna on the house for locals and stream everything else.

We already do...maybe indirectly sometimes...but we all pay....through taxes, concessions, parking, price increases by vendors to cover costs of advertising, etc.

There ain't no such thing as a FREE LUNCH...the same holds true for sports viewing privileges...

Yes that's me, and it's true this is what happens. I figured with all the Republicans around here we'd appreciate a corporation (btw a citizen in the eyes of our government) exercising their right the pursuit of happiness and maximized profits.

I was at the game and even being in my young, spry mid 30's I'm still feeling it in my joints. Saw a lot of folks with no face coverings, and yes a few shirtless dudes (all drunk of their ass) I imagine some of them had some serious injuries on Sunday morning. That cold was no joke. Can't think of a scenario where I would do that again.

I wonder about the number of NEW subsciptions, though? Many of us already had the network and simply had to turn the game on.

The lead story in the KC Star this morning was an article about the number of calls to the KCFD asking for service at the stadium for people suffering from frostbite and hypothermia. The estimated number of calls was 70. You've got to figure that there were even more that didn't call and received medical attention at the stadium.

Kcfd should have said your dumbass went to that game sorry that your nipples fell off, have a good day.

Yes and one that was already voted in and was supposed to be completed by 2022, just got delayed and now they are fighting it and say they never heard of it, it was on the local news when it was voted on and passed...+
I am glad I am not that old...

Reads harsh response containing zero sympathy for lost nipples...
Sees the poster's handle includes "Freeze"...
Nods in appreciation to the consistency and rolls on.
