A 13-0 run by Ozark in the third quarter seemingly put the game away for the COC champ, but the Vikings of Parkview made a run of their own and (as it turned out) a better timed one (early fourth quarter) to pull off the upset. Yes, Ozark had turbo clocked the Vikings in January 64-34, but the Vikings were down at least one key player and had only gotten Tyem Freeman back the week before. So, this was a different squad compared to the one Ozark played earlier in the season. You never allow an underdog to hang around, which is exactly what Ozark did. You've got to end it and end it early, that didn't happen.

Well, the nine-game, 27-year post-season losing streak to Kickapoo is OVER! Thank, God! I was worried that a similar outcome that ended Ozark's season would be visited upon my Falcons. A good start ended any concern I had and Glendale got the lead up to nearly 30 points in the fourth quarter. The last time Glendale defeated Kickapoo in post-season play, I was not quite four years old. (District first round game in 1984).

Glendale Falcons "Southside" Champions for 2017-18 and for the first time since 2011-12.

I just might! Nearly died in 2015, but the great doctors at Barnes Jewish saved me. Stage 3 kidney disease, high blood pressure, anxiety issues, etc. So, you never know when your number is up. Glendale's CHOKING in post-season play certainly isn't helping matters.

FINAL FOURS:
Central - 7
Kickapoo - 7
Parkview - 5
Hillcrest - 4
Glendale - 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

State Championship Game Appearances:

Well, Glendale continued its proud tradition of losing to a team in the post-season that they had defeated during the regular season.

I know this must have been a hard one for you to take, given the hopes you had for this season. I'm disappointed for you and for Glendale's seniors. That being said, however, this is not the same Parkview team you guys beat earlier. For one thing it looks like Freeman is used to playing with this new group of guys and they are used to him, and getting Dontae Taylor back from his injury completely changes this team. Parkview is dangerous as long as Freeman stays out of foul trouble and they can use their quickness effectively. They'll be a tough matchup for whoever gets them in sectionals.

Oh, I'm not sure about that. Taylor was back, Morrison played, Freeman played...it was only February 9th! We just played very poorly and still had it tied 60-60 in the fourth quarter. Can't have silly turnovers, charging calls, poor shots, poor shooting, etc. and win in the post-season. We did all of those last night.

Interesting fact, which tells you a lot about the problems with Glendale boys basketball, but we've NEVER pulled off a post-season upset in 55 years, yet we've been upset about two dozen times. A very telling stat!
