It is sooooo painful watching this Cardinal team. Masterson is awful and no hitters over .300 thank God the Brewers haven't run away with the division

I am saying it right now, If Masterson pitches another game before we clinch, other than a relief appearance in a blowout I will not be watching any more Cardinals baseball in 2014. This is absolutely absurd. Dealing for him was an insult to the team and fans.

If Mo was exec of the year because of his deals and prospects in the last few years---what is he now?
Our prospects are ALL overrated. Can you name one young guy who hasn't regressed this year?

John Jay is still over .300 and in the race for a batting title this season. Sadly it doesn't look he'll have enough AB's to qualify. Too long experimenting with Bourjos early in the season and too many games on the bench when a lefty was pitching, even though he hit lefties better than anyone else on the team. Then today the lineup was loaded with lefties against a lefty pitcher. Go figure. Probably should have let Molina play catch in the first game and play 1st base the second to get him more AB's while not taking the punishment of catching and give Adams a game off.

Forgot about Jay, but you get my drift. Bourjos should be playing CF and Jay right.

His ABs have been solid lately. As much as I was ready for OT to play daily, he has been given enough time. I'd be in favor of Bourjos in CF and Jay in RF...or even Grichuck in RF. Both have looked much better than OT.

Taveras is looking like the biggest flop in decades.
How could so many people be so wrong.
And his infield clone Wong could be his Siamese twin
except they are both left handed.

3r check his stats since the all star break and you will find he has been better than OT.

Bourjos has 66 strikeouts in 216 AB's, Taveras has 30 Strikeouts in 184 AB's. Contrary to the belief of some stat guys a strikeout is NOT just another out. You do noting to help the offense when you strikeout. I wouldn't mind Grichuk,or one of the other newbies coming up in RF and leave Jay in there with occasional day off. I think they've already screwed him out a chance for a bating title.

He isn't very good with two strikes...but you place far too much importance on putting the ball in play. This isn't town league, rolling it to the SS in the Bigs doesn't have a 50/50 chance of going for a double. When nobody is on base, a K is just another out. Of course, depending on the situation, putting it in play with runners on can be better...but sometimes it can be worse. You really overvalue that stat. Sort of like BA. It's just not as important as some might think. But I do get tired of watching him whiff at 1-2 sliders in the dirt though.

If you don't put it in play NOTHING good happens, if you do ANYTHING can happen. Just no reason to say a strikeout in ANY situation is just another out out. Major Leaguers make errors on the easy plays more than the hard ones. With a runner on 2nd or 3rd it's VERY important to put the ball in play. If you don't want the pitcher to hit into a DP then tell him to stand there with the bat on his shoulder and see if the other guy can throw 3 strikes.

They have to keep Grichuk in RF. He seems to be locked in at the plate, he can run, plays very good defense and has by far the best arm of anybody I've seen in the Cardinal OF this year.

Folks, pay attention, this is what fandom is made of right here. Duck is such an astute fan he hasn't even noticed the adjustments that Taveras has made over the last month. We'll give him a pass, I'm sure he was more worried about finding the next ridiculous thing to complain about. Like how bad of job Mo has done this year........Give me a break.

Another attempt to try to look like a big Cardinals fan?
Taveras is performing like Jim Lindeman. A hyped Cardinals
prospect from years gone by. Who never panned out.

I pointed out Taveras long swing two months ago. He is trying
to change. Of course you would know that if you were actually a fan.

Wong has shortened his stroke and has shown improvement. Perhaps Oscar can do the same.
But Oscar was hyped as a get off the bus hitting line drives prospect. And that hasn't been there

I'm liking Grichuk more and more. He seems a lot more fundamentally sound than OT at this point. And yes he does have a good arm. I like that a lot.

Probably a beter hitter and definitely a better defender. Taveras still has long way to go to hit well and he will never be as good defensively. Grichuk's offense may go south again but he won't get slower and he'll still play better defense. Probably a couple more OF options coming soon.
