Ozzie Ozboune vs Motorhead

The Prince of Darkness

Motorhead is terrible other then maybe 2 songs.

Ozzy. Gotta dig Lita Ford. She was a hottie back in the deeeee.

First off...it's OZZY...with a "Y"...

More importantly...I question the collective comparison of these two bands...
This thread would be more interesting if it were Black Sabbath v. Motörhead.
Essentially, Ozzy's solo bands are not very comparable with Motörhead.
There's probably more in common between Ozzy Osbourne & Lemmy Kilmister
as individuals than their respective bands.

With that being said...Ozzy enjoyed massive mainstream commercial success due
to the fact that Black Sabbath was a platinum selling act in the 1970's, and
the early 1980's post-Sabbath solo band featured guitar virtuoso Randy Rhodes.
This led to two massive albums "Blizzard of Oz" and "Diary of a Madman".
Following Rhode's death, the addition of Jake E. Lee and two more huge hit
albums "Bark at the Moon" and "The Ultimate Sin"...oh and MTV helped also...

Motörhead on the other hand, for have sold 15 million albums worldwide, and enjoying
some late 70's, early 80's success, with albums "Overkill" and "Ace of Spades" remain
relatively unknown by the mainstream unless you watch "That Metal Show" on VH1 Classic
and/or you've been to Hot Topic and/or Wal-Mart and bought a Motörhead t-shirt because
it "looks cool"....Unless your Jame Hetfield, most would have trouble naming 5 Motörhead
songs other than "Ace of Spades" without the help of Wikipedia.

However, I dare you to listen to the solo in Motörhead's "Just 'cos You Got the Power"...
...if you don't get goose bumps..you're probably dead...just saying..

Local expertise says....Ozzy Osbourne wins album version.
Motörhead wins live version.

Lemmy is horrible. The band sucks. Motorhead is just bad and they should feel bad.

You also forgot a little guitar player,Zakk Wylde. No More Tears and Ozzmosis

So much hate on Lemmy! If it's Motörhead vs Sabbath, Sabbath wins (Lemmy may have invented the distorted bass, but Sabbath invented Metal); if it's Motörhead vs Ozzy (solo), 'Ace of Spades' is a better album than anything Ozzy's ever released solo (just my opinion).

Just because I didn't mention Zakk Wylde, doesn't mean I forgot about him.
Listen...there's a place for Zakk Wylde in the annals of Ozzy history.
However, most Ozzy fans became Ozzy fans by virtue of Black Sabbath and
the first four solo albums during Ozzy's "classic period"...
Wylde had nothing to do with this...It's like trying to say Tommy Bolin deserves
as much credit as Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple.
Wylde is pretty good, but only 4 studio albums in 20 years...
For as good and creative as Wylde is with Black Label, he's pretty much just a touring
guitarist for Ozzy...playing all those hits written by Iommi, Rhodes and Lee..
"No More Tears" and "Ozzmosis" were pretty good albums..no doubt...but not difference makers.

Buck, I'm just glad you know what facts are, and what you are not.....a smart man.

ps. 1977 called....it want's it's mustache back...
