Predictions for order of finish?

I will go with Rolla and Kickapoo at the top. West Plains in the 3 hole. Glendale and Hillcrest in the cellar.

1 Rolla (Rolla / Kickapoo toss up- both loaded)
2 Kickapoo (Fontleroy injury)
3 West Plains (Lost some good pieces but still will be good)
4 Lebanon (think they shocked a few people last year)
5 Central (Brooks will have some good games)
6 Waynesville (Evans is solid)
7 Camdenton (move in from Rock Bridge helps)
8 Parkview (lost Acord and Diggs)
9 Hillcrest
10 Glendale (lost Pinkston)

1. Kickapoo
2. West Plains
3. Lebanon
4. Rolla
5. Camdenton
6. Central
7. Waynesville
8. Parkview
9. Hillcrest
10. Glendale

Rolla-Kickapoo should be a great game with tons of talent on each side. West Plains runs the best matchup zone I've seen on the girls side especially in this area. Evans from Waynesville and Brooks from Central both are extremely talented, but won't have as much help this year. Glendale's best senior isn't playing and losing Pinkston will really hurt them. Parkview will turn to guards Ouck and Whalen, but won't have the strength inside or the depth they had last year. Glendenning from Lebanon is one of my favorite players to watch. Kid is hard nosed and just a winner.

I've heard that, unfortunately I haven't been able to see Thayer play the last two years even though I've really wanted to. Thayer boys used to run one heck of a matchup as well.

I think you guys are sleeping a bit on Camdenton, so here is how I see it. And I'm no Camdenton homie, at all.

1. Rolla
2. Kickapoo
3. Camdenton
4. West Plains
5. Lebanon
6. Central
7. Waynesville
8. Parkview
9. Glendale
10. Hillcrest

Kickapoo wont have Fontleroy and one of their other better and more athletic players isn't planning on playing hoops any more is the word on the street, but still plenty of talent there. How it all comes together remains to be seen, especially with the way they sub in and out.

Rolla returns all 5 starters I believe from a 24-4 team. Central should be one of the more improved teams IMO. Glendale has some decent younger talent but this will most definitely be a rebuilding year for them and Hillcrest has very little, they lost 4 seniors and they were not good last year. Parkview has two really good players but they lost 5 seniors and have little depth this year.

Rolla should cruise to an undefeated state title now that they got rid of that coach who was holding them back. Sure they went from zero wins a few years ago to one game away from the Final Four, but he clearly didn't understand player development and treated those freshmen so poorly by having them play major minutes all season. I just hope that three more years of high school basketball is enough time for them to salvage any hopes of playing in college.

I guess I'm having trouble understanding this one... Some freshman - notably the tall mixed girl and the blonde point guard - played major minutes on a 24-4 varsity team and did pretty well and you're saying that the coach treated them poorly by having them playing all the minutes they played?

Am I missing some sarcasm here?

Gotcha… I picked it up the second time I read it. I know how screwed up the coaching/parent situation was at Rolla last year but as someone who knows a Rolla parent of a girl on the team there's a little more to the story than what has been publicly put out there. That's all I'm gonna say though. And it doesn't matter anyway as this is another one of those "he said/she said" situations.

Rolla graduated 1 starter, the garner girl. She was a good, long defender and role player. And the he said she said crap was a desperate last resort by freshman parents to try and get the coach removed. They should all be ashamed of their actions.

Crazy, since Floyd's daughter was a freshman and presumably was friends with the other freshmen on the team and they played on the same club team. His daughter didnt even play as much as 2 or 3 other freshmen last year

The Rolla parents are insane. I predict they underachieve depending on their schedule. They didnt impress this summer. Im sure they will sharpen but the drama is overwhelming.

I think Rolla is the Fav in swmo class 4 to get to the final 4. They have size and good guards. The only thing that could stop them is parents focusing on individual stats and "AAU" coaches interfering with chemistry.

Rogersville and West Plains should be down this year. Carl Junction may be Rolla's best competitor for the Final 4.

But placing the kids on the bench may cost the new coach his job.

Enough talent at Rolla to win games while setting the tone for parents. Been there and done that. If new coach doesn’t set the tone early, he will lose his job anyway

the old coach didn't lose his job. He had the admin and board support. He chose to leave education. New coach will also have support. The only fickle admin there is the AD. He will protect himself first.

Rolla hasn't looked too great in the school ball session going on right now at the Fieldhouse in Springfield so far. Not sure if they have all of their players though, especially the older ones. Carl Junction is about the only undefeated team so far in that league. May not mean anything at all, but worth noting I suppose

Could be one of those things where the coaching philosophy offensive and defensively is taking a little bit of time. Not sure what Rolla ran last year defensively, but there may just be a learning curve there. Could just be that the coach is looking at people in different places than they played last year.
