Outfield Situation

Now that the Birds seem to have their roster set...Who do you want to see in the OF? It's fairly obvious that Bader and Fowler are going to start in CF and RF, no matter how bad they are. So this is fantasy land talk, but lets do it anyway. Bader, Fowler, O'Neill, Carlson, Thomas, Edman, Justin Williams (edited to add), and Munoz are the options. Here's mine...Carlson/Thomas/O'Neill.

I'm tired of Bader and Fowler. They were both about as bad offensively as a regular can be, save a month for Fowler and about a 10 game stretch for Bader. I can't imagine those three being an worse than what Fowler, Bader, and one other can give you. Edman isn't a regular because I hope/think he'll be the regular 3B after Marp continues to suck. And I'm not sold on Edman being all that great.

At least Bader would save some runs.

I think a Carlson/Thomas/O’Neil outfield would save more runs than Bader/Fowler/Whoever. The first group has 3 guys who can play center. I say give the young guys a chance and see what happens.

Couldn't agree more. I know it won't happen...but sure would be nice. That whole Mo quote of Bader being the CFer and "obviously Dex is established" just makes me cringe.
