Have the Cards ever had a worse collection of outfield arms? Jay should be embarrassed by his throw in the 9th from RF. You're a major league outfielder and you can't throw a ball within 40 feet of home plate from half way out in the field? Do they even practice?

There isnt an arm out there. But there are a lot of weak arms in MLB outfields now. Its like they don't even consider arm strength when they draft outfielders. I don't see a Bernie Carbo, Dave Parker, etc out there anywhere. Last year they acted like Beltran had a cannon, but back in the day he would have been considered average.

Weakness of his arm was not the problem, the ball went far enough and fast enough but was waaay off line. That's the way Bourjos throws more times than not and he was supposed to be a great defender coming in. Jay is usually more accurate but not so strong, that one was pretty ugly.

Sad part was he had an outside chance at throwing the go ahead run out. But that was worse than a little league throw. There's no way they can practice much. If they did they'd get better.
