Dont think we have heard much on Osage. MoSooner what is the word on them?

Lost the first 3 and have now won 7 in a row. They finished second to Blair Oaks in a very competitive Tri-County Conference.(aside from dominant BO)

They are well-coached, physical on the lines, and have quite a bit of team speed.

Watching them the last 4 years I would say the two biggest improvements they have made are that they are much more physical this year, and make fewer drive-killing mistakes.

A third improvement is they make better use of their team speed.

Their offense is hard to stop, but a good offense can move the ball against their defense.

Their offense looks like a handful.. They have multiple backs that can do damage. Looking forward to the game it should be a good one.

Also to note, Osage was without their starting QB weeks 1 and 2 vs Jeff City and Moberly. He brings some dynamic ability to the offense as well.

Like Moleebo said, well coached, Coach Jolley does a good job wherever he goes. Underrated coach across the state, but well respected across Mid-Mo.

Pistol Wing T, RB is very explosive and runs bucksweep well for them. Two other backs that rotate are good as well. I think their line play has gotten better as the season has went on which has really helped them. If their D can hold up and limit the big play I think they have a very good shot at winning this one. As stated by an earlier poster, Coach Jolley is well respected in the mid-mo area. Has a history of taking over programs in some rough times and turning them around. I would love to see them move on and make a run.

Crazy thing about Jolley and the Tri-County, he probably has about the 4th best resume among the coaches in the league.
There are definitely some good coaches with good resumes in the conference. I think Coach Jolley's is overlooked due to taking over struggling programs. The first time he took over Osage, they were really bad. Then he took over Eldon when they were the doormat of the conference and had them competitive in year 4. And being from the area, Eldon has has little to no success in the last 20 years that did not include him, just a tough place to win. Now he has turned Osage around in year 2 of his 2nd tenure there. I'm probably a little biased towards him, but would love to see what he would do with the talent of a Blair Oaks or Hallsville from last year.

But I do agree, with Coach LePage, Coach Conyers and Coach Ross, they have some state championship experience. On a side note I will say that if Coach LePage had never left BO the 1st time, I think he would talked about with the Coach Rod and Bailey and Greg Jones.

Good post. I would say you can speak about coach Lepage in the same way of coach Rod, Bailey and Jones. He took over a struggling JC program (struggling by there standards) and made them very competitive with the toughest schedule year in year out. I mean Bailey went and tried that out at JC and got smashed. Every good coach wins cause they have talent. Great Coaches will make average teams very competitive. Lepage, Rod, Bailey, Jones are all in that category for sure.

I agree 100%, I was meaning for others that aren't in the area. I would put Coach LePage up there with anybody in the state. I know a lot of people think he failed at JC, but if you know anything about the game, you realize they probably overachieved with the lack of talent he had there. JC is just a different town and community than it was when Pete was there. I just think had he stayed at BO, they would've won state in 07, 08, 12 and 16. Add in his son would've been QB for them so I think they possibly would've won in 11. But you can't change the past, I'm just glad he returned to BO.

Are you thinking 2015 instead of 2016? 15 they were loaded with talent, they were loaded in 17 as well. 2014 was another year they had a bunch of talent. They had the oldest Hair kid then, but that's when Drehle didn't even have him as the full time QB, even though he should have been.
I agree though, more than likely they would have quite a few more titles had he stayed. It is what it is though. I'm sure BO fans are just happy he's back.

You are correct, I meant 15. I still think that team had more talent than the 18 team. They were absolutely loaded. And you're correct again on 14 lol. They lost to Cali in the district Title. I remember Jordan Hair was 1st team all conference and All district QB as a soph and then junior year in 14, Drehle's son played most of the season at QB. I think they could've made a run to the semis had he played QB all year like he should've.

Coach Seitz from Versailles has State Championship from Kansas and has an impressive resume. LePage, Conyers, and Seitz that's 3 state championship head coaches ahead of Jolley IMO. Ross is right behind him. When Boonville coach Hough is about 6th in the conference that's a deep bench of coaching talent.

Lepage never leaves BO and you are potentially looking at titles in 04, 06, 07, 08, 18, 20, and potentially 22. With 12, 15, and 17 all being close as well. The teams in 06, 07, and 08 were LOADED with talent and size. The 06 championship team was Drehle's first year with a well oiled Lepage built team. 07 runner up and 08 (lost to eventual champs Clark County) teams were very, very good. Fun to watch.

We're happy to have ALL those good coaches mentioned above by others in mid-Missouri. Conyers, Jolly, and Ross ran teams will always be competitive and those are all good, supportive communities.

Before districts started I expected Reeds to win this district however their score against Cassville has me a little concerned. I expected them to win by more.

Very well said. After the crap that LePage had to deal with at JC, I was really glad to see him back at BO picking up where he left off before. He's the one that changed the program and built it to what it was prior to Drehle or Walker.

I was a little shocked as well. Reeds definitely passes the eye test with some of their players, but I was very surprised they struggled with Cassville. Was it real windy last Saturday there? Do you think that may have effected their passing game?
