Open season in St. Louis

Roosevelt is a St. Louis City Public High School. In St. Louis City, there is open enrollment for any public high school in the district. I realize fans' heads in cow towns everywhere in Missourah that aren't St. Louis or Kansas City are exploding at the thought, but there ARE places with more than 1 public high school choice. It's always good to be able to complain about the evils of STL though, right?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the reason they are allowed to choose which public school they attend because the district is on academic probation by the state?

St. Joe Mo. has open enrollment. Most of the recruiting is done in boys and girls basketball.

KCMO lost their accreditation. so those students were going to be allowed to go to neighboring districts if they wanted to. Those districts threatened lawsuits. So the state of Mo gave KCMO their accreditation back or said they were on track to get it back. problem solved.

Would be nice if everybody got the same rules. Ive got a nice spot for a house but it is liberal school district despite the lamar mailing address. My options are build in lamar, go to liberal or pay tuition.

I hear you, we are looking for land right now to build in Monett School district. Every time something comes open in Monett school district you are looking at around $6,000 an acre. You can go to Purdy PC Verona, well even Aurora or MV and land is not even 2/3 that price. Just Crazy, I really think Verona just needs to fold into Monett and Aurora.

Yep!

As soon as my kids graduate, a world of possibilities open up to my wife and I as well! :D

(Just eight more years!)

I made plans for moving out of district my kids entire way through school.
I was ready to go and had the boxes packed when the youngest one graduated.
I believe I have heard Springfield is open enrollment outside of Kickapoo.
