Class 3 will have 3 top teams going for the championship in Columbia in March, 2016. Father Tolton will challenge defending class 3 state champion, Barstow but coach Billy Thomas from Barstow just has to much for teams in class 3. Cardinal Ritter from St. Louis will be the 3rd best team in class 3 and could upset the two favorites. Cardinal Ritter has hired Randy Reed one of the top high school coaches in Missouri to take over for the retired Marvin Neals. Never bet against Randy Reed's teams if the talent is close. Randy has a few large school state championships and I'm betting on more in the future.

Scott County Central should defend their class 2 state championship. The Braves have reloaded with 2-3 talented players who was not on the Scott County roster last year.

Class 5 has a big favorite in Chaminade but St. Louis University High has the talent and the coach to do big things this year.

Class 1 and 4 appears to be up for grabs. The Borgia Knights could be a factor this year but I can't see a class 4 final four.

Talented " Move ins " could come into play and change the above predictions.

Do we have other teams who could make waves in 2016?

Tell me more about these new players at Scott County Central,

Most of the information came from a website in Southeast. The website is ( semoball.com ). Click on forum and read the comments on the " Rib City shootout". Scott County Central won this shootout in their division. Other comments were nobody knew any of the players except Porter and another player who came eligible the second semester last season. I'm not saying the Scott County Central Braves did anything wrong since players enjoy playing basketball @ SCC. Bloomfield will be the SCC Braves's competition in their class 2 district next Feb. The Bloomfield kids have been playing together since grade school with hopes to win a district in 2016 and they very well might.

Class 1 I believe Winston will return. And look for St. Joe Lafayette to have a good chance to get there.

In Class 1, everyone should watch the Eminence Redwings. Coach McBride's son is a freshman and the kid can play. They will certainly be a tough out for anyone.

Look out for Rolla or Helias in Class 4. One of these 2 teams that will come out of the same district will be tough to deal with because returning players. They both have a lot of returning starters.

I have serious doubts that Scott County Central will repeat as Class 2 champs.

Metro-I watched SCC play several times this summer. The "new" 2-3 kids are not nearly as talented as the players they lost from last season. It's going to be much tougher on Jeff Porter this year. Now, don't misunderstand me. Jeff will still put up great numbers and be one of the best in this area. But he just doesn't have nearly as much help as he had last year. My way too early prediction is that this is the year that they don't even win their district. Bloomfield returns everybody. Bloomfield beat SCC this summer. Of course that means nothing other than the fact that Bloomfield's kids will believe they can beat them again. I would actually bet money that SCC won't win their district this year. This year will be the beginning of a long process of this program falling backwards. They just don't have the talent or kids that they are used to having. Guess we will see.

shamrock2011, I do not believe the " SCC School Administration " will risk their eligibility in the MSHSAA districts on 3 average @ best players who do not live in their district. This information was reported by a Sikeston resident who lives next door to one of the players who enrolled @ SCC without moving. The risk is to high for the SCC school district to declare these 3 student-athletes eligible for the 2015-16 school year. This risk will exist all the way to the class 2 districts. I do not believe the SCC Administrators will bet against a complaint to the MSHSAA regarding playing ineligibles players forcing an investigation by the MSHSAA.
We must remember the SCC school district has done nothing wrong @ this point. Who wants to bet these 3 players play for the Braves this year?
