omg picked up flag in dallas game?

Unreal

Imagine Suh running out on the field
without his helmet on protesting like Dez Bryant did.
There would have been hankies flying in every direction.

When have they ever picked up a flag on PI?

In this instance, I am not sure the Dallas kid was close enough to commit pass interference until after the ball bonked off his back.

Would be interesting to hear an explanation of why the flag was picked up though.

It does seem to me that after an entire season of calling PI for every touch in the secondary, the refs are allowing a LOT of contact in the playoffs.

I wouldn't have complained if the flag had never been thrown in the first place, and I'd only be irritated if the flag had been thrown only to be picked up, but this crew took it a step further: They threw the flag, made the call on the field(over the PA and the TV broadcast), and then they picked it up without even an explanation as to why???(what new evidence did they have to pick up a flag that had not only been thrown, but a flag for a penalty that had already been called on the field???...)

...this coupled with the fact that during yesterday's Cardinals/Panthers game, Ed Hercules accidently opened up his mic and told the world that "I got the word from Jungle Boy that was a good call"(he was referring to Replay Official Tom Sifferman, who's nickname is "Jungle Boy"...)

...the point is, these officials are now getting messages in their ears from the booth about calls LIVE, and the booth gets their edicts from Dean Blandino(who parties with the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones' son during camp!)

I FULLY AGREE!!! THE WORST...

...NO CALL I HAVE SEEN THIS SEASON. The guy never turned his head and had his hands on the receiver the entire way. Never made a play on the ball, or even attempted to make a play on the ball. He didn't even know where the ball was! Couldn't have made a play on the ball when it hit him in the upper left shoulder pad. I thought for it NOT to be PI, the defender has to be trying to make a play on the ball. That never happened! Unbelievable. Enjoy it while you can, Jerry. I hope Green Bay destroys Dallas.

The NFL is a JOKE!!!

That call was bizarre.

Even more bizarre is seeing Chri Christie and Jerry Jones man hugging it out.

Whats the guy I the dark blue doing!?

Re: It wasnt even close.

Chrisie's handlers need to re-evaluate his wardrobe choices.
That sweater made him look like a giant tomatoe. And the hugging
was not presidential.

Re: It wasnt even close.

That hug looks like an uncool kid trying to be part of something he is not...that is embarrassing Jones is not even paying attention to him.

Where's Dean Blandino???(that is nauseating...)

Re: It wasnt even close.

Yeah Im a Dallas fan, and even I was mystified at the Flag being picked up.

But still, I cant imagine a BETTER way for Suh, his Coaches and his teammates who can seem to control him, to Exit the Play Offs. :)
Lets just say the Ref's Just Stomped on his Leg too bring his season to and end.

Re: It wasnt even close.

No offense Doc, but Suh completely dominated the Cowboys
highly touted O-line. Murray could only score a TD when they
ran to the other side. Suh is an incredible, soon to be very rich, football player.

You are certainly welcome to express your opinion.
Did you believe the Dallas defender was making a play
on the ball?

You try making that body look good. That's not a great canvas to start with. Red=Tomato. Orange=Pumpkin. Green=Xmas Tree. Brown=A big fat turd. And I don't care how much black that dude wears, it's not going to be slimming.

Christie's not...

...presidential. Not even on a good day. If he's all we've got, we're in some serious trouble.

Acting like a bunch...

...of idiots that have never seen Dallas win a football game. Jeez..........

Re: Acting like a bunch...

The call sucked but Dallas finally won a playoff game! I was starting to wonder if that would ever happen again.

Which is worse? Billionaires and Millionaires whom have put in a ton of time and have been ridiculed for years celebrating a playoff win or Veer streaking in his underwear drunk on Keystone light after MU beat #25 and celebrating hanging his runnerup banner?

If you're a big man...no stripes...EVER...not vertical...not horizontal...no pinstripes...no big stripes...An old vet doctor in Freddy from many years gone by had the same, ahem, build of Governor Christie. We're playing golf one day. Doc was wearing a pretty thick striped shirt that was clinging to him. As he's lining up a put on the 1st green, one of the guys in the group blurts out, "hey, when Doc pulled on that shirt this morning it was pinstriped." Everybody except Doc doubled over in laughter. Poor guy never wore that shirt again.

Re: It wasnt even close.

I'm a diehard Cowboys fan, always have been. When watching the game live, I thought it was an easy, easy pass interference call - even though some of you need to learn the rules and know that in the NFL, you don't have to turn your head or 'make a play on the ball'. And when the refs decided to pick up the flag, I was happy, obviously, but sincerely dumbfounded. I thought it was one of the worst no-calls I had seen in a long time.

I was texting my little brother throughout the game, and we both felt the same way. We thought the Cowboys were finally on the lucky side of a bad call. But then he texted me, 'go back and watch it again. It was a good no call.' I didn't believe him and said there was no way. But he insisted. So I hit rewind on the DVR and watched it again. While there was contact at the end of the play, what no one was showing or talking about was the fact that Pettigrew was holding onto and pulling down on Hitchens' facemask almost the entire route. When the contact initiated, it was because Hitchens was knocking Pettigrews grip on his facemask loose.

After watching it several times, I truly do believe the refs made the right call. There was contact on both sides that could have been called, so no call or offsetting would have been fine.

The throwing the flag, announcing the penalty and then waving it off shouldn't have happened, and the refs admitted that. There should have been a convening before any announcement was made, and if there had been, this wouldn't even be a topic of discussion moving forward.

Yup, hence my saying there was contact going both ways. If you're going
to call one for holding, you've got to call the other too. And, if we're
being technical, Pettigrew could have been called for a personal foul
for pulling the facemask. It all evened out in the end, and the better team won.

Re: It wasnt even close.

Didn't have a dog in the fight, but was fun to see Detroit make a run.

Re: It wasnt even close.

You need to rewatch it again at normal speed.
He got his fingers in the facemask and immediately
let go. On the other hand there was holding, interference,
and unsportsmanlike conduct all not called against Dallas

If Tony Dungy criticizes it, then I know it was bad.

Even Dean Blandino released an official statement that their should have been a defensive holding call on the play(so you and your brother are incorrect, though I understand your bias
