I love the old articles from the 1920's and 1930's that talk about the fans watching the games from their motor cars that they pulled up to the very edge of the field because it was so cold in those late November games.
Now-a-days the only way you are getting anywhere near the track at most places is an overflow playoff game when all the seats are taken. Heck I still remember when you could get a good game of cup football going with the younger brothers from the opposing school in the area behind the endzone during the actual game.
