Staley is Oak Park North. Oak Park was once the apple of NKCSD. When Staley opened OP hung on for a while in football to be replaced by OPN. OPN is the best football program that the largest school district in Kansas City has to offer. The 5th largest district statewide. When they opened the school NKCSD did it right, cut no corners in facilities and amenities to field a awesome opportunity. Staley's attendance area is every kid north of 152. New Mark is the direct feeder school. Other schools have mismash of attendance lines. Last night Oak Park North dressed out a gazillion players, filled up their monster stadium with a huge district championship crowd. If a family is moving to NKC area, they're going to look at this school and facility and choose it over the other 3 schools, hands down.

My question is, why the disparity between the Staley and the other 3 schools? Is this even a fair question? Are there other examples of suburdan schools that have this type of disparity? Oak Park South, North Kansas City, and Winnetonka, all three teams have maybe 3-4 wins between them this year. They have low numbers. I think they beat each other to get a win. Proud Winnetonka the most recent to have fallen off the map. From where I sit, they might be there for a while. Winnetonka beat Kearney in 2014. Winnetonka has never played Staley in varsity football.

NKCSD has no junior high football. Just think about that for a second. A kid may or may not be in little league football, comes to NKC high with zero football knowledge, perhaps with no other sports experience for their family more than likely doesn't have the resources to support them in little league. In Staley's case, the kid comes in, from a upper middle home, more than likely has some football and other experiences. Seems to me that Jr. High FB could address the problems in disparity rather than an unlikely redefining of the schools boundaries. Yeah, I think NKCSD should have a power house school. But is it fair to ask if equity can be improved? Probably nobody cares to read this. I'm just asking for some smarter people than me bounce off some solutions.
