Gonna be tough to live with that loss...choked a away a 12 point lead in the last 44 seconds of regulation...UNBELIEVABLE!

Or you could say A&M took it from them. A&M did it without putting them on the line hoping they would miss enough free throws to give them a chance. They didn't just get steals, they SCORED on nearly all of those possessions, one a 3 pointer off an inbounds play from the base line. Tough to watch if you were rooting for the underdog like I was, but UNI used up it's magic with not 1, but 2 Hail Mary shots to get to this game.

aTm deserves some credit. But UNI just gave a trip to the sweet 16 away. There is no way a team at any level of basketball should let that happen. It was as if they had never seen pressure before. Got to feel a little for them, that one is going to sting for a very long time.

Kickapoo 52 - Glendale 42 with :57 seconds left.

Final score: Glendale 53 - Kickapoo 52

The Chiefs missed the front end of four one-and-ones.

At the time, Roy Green called it the toughest loss of his career. I think it ended up being second to the Neosho district championship defeat in 2002.

Funny story, some of the Kickapoo parents/fans left the game early thinking they had won it to get good seats at a local restaurant. A while later, Coach K and some Glendale people walked in the same restaurant still celebrating the win and the Kickapoo people were stunned. Not sure if they could finish eating their food or not.

At least they got to line. UNI couldn't hang on to the ball long enough to make the defense foul them and didn't stop them from scoring after the turnovers. I guess A&M could call that the 'shock & awe' defense cause it sure looked like UNI was in shock and couldn't recover from it. Not sure why they didn't at least try to throw it long more, if you turn it over in their backcourt at least you run a few seconds off the clock and your defense has time to recover and protect the basket a little bit. 2 or 3 seconds more off the clock a time or two and they could have ran the clock out.

Was tough to watch. Twice in-bounding in the short corner? Hard to imagine the long pass wasn't there they way they were overplaying it.
