Yeah. I thought Bolivar looked pretty good. WC brought it tonight, especially on defense.
Bolivar was pretty good on defense but averaged less that 2 yards per play until Webb put in the JV up 37-0 . That being said ...that's probably the 3rd best team Webb has seen
Agreed. Bolivar did just beat West Plsind and what beat Hillcrest 73-0 before that. They had some good athletes but WC got them down and defense put the clamps on. Probably the most complete game WC played all year.
Joplin . You know this . I still think it was a fluke they won though . But I will say ..Joplin has probably the most productive offense I've seen in 10 years . But when you throw a pick 6 and fumble 5 times ...great teams will take advantage of that no matter how good your defense is
Coach Jasper has to convince underclasssmen that the world doesn’t end when these seniors are gone. Other kids need to step up and make it happen. No reason Joplin shouldn’t be able to put a good team on the field every year
Bolivar doesn't need to beat Webb to prove they are legit. I'm a Bolivar guy that roots for Webb City when we aren't playing them. I'm in awe of their scheme, coaching and the athletes they put out every year. Just look at the kids Webb has playing at D Tackle. They are most always tall, lean, quick and athletic and unlike the slow plodders most other High Schools have.
Bolivar is never gonna have the pool of players to choose from that Webb has and they aren't gonna have the level of coaching they have either. Webb is like the Patriots in a way. They take away what opposing team's do best on offense and just leave them spinning in their tracks.
Webb City might be the best team in the state if they got a do-over with Joplin. 11-1 and getting beat by an outstanding program is pretty good in my book.

14-2 since 89. I think John is 12-2? 12 times undefeated.. Which I guess isn’t abnormal for Champions.

I certainly don't think that game was a fluke.
Do you recall how Webb even get back into that game? Joplin was up 35-14 in the 4th quarter. Webb blocked a punt and fell on it in the end zone for a TD. 3 plays later, Isaiah Davis fumbled on their own 30 and Webb scored again to make it 35-28. "Flukes" go both ways. How many blocked punts for TD's do you see? How many times do you see the Zay Train fumble?
Oh, and Westmoreland getting a pick 6 is in no way a fluke.
Joplin schemed a good game. They were blitzing up the middle and disrupting Webb's had offs. Hell, Joplin's Holden Ledford almost took a hand off on one play.
That all being said, go Eagles and go Cardinals! I want to see all of the SWMO teams win now that conference play is over.
