Among the top offensive performers in the Show-Me State as a
junior Chaminade running back
Rob Standard enters his senior season as the No. 14 prospect in the
Rivals.com Missouri Top 20 rankings.
Standard, a 5-foot-10 inch, 173-pound talent recorded a 4.4
time in the 40-yard dash, he also recorded a bench max at 220-pounds. Last
season Standard led the Red Devils to the Class 5 playoffs leading the St. Louis
area with 2,821 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per carry. Standard was also
among the scoring leaders in the state finishing with 40 touchdowns.
Standard has received recruiting interest from Kansas,
Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. He currently holds
offers from Iowa State and Nebraska. Standard attended spring games in both
Ames, Iowa and Lincoln, Nebraska and has yet to release a favorite.
"I still have the two scholarship offers, from Iowa State and
Nebraska," the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Standard said. "Illinois is talking to me
quite a bit too. Their coach was up not to long ago to watch us run through some
seven on seven drills."
"I didn't go to any spring games but I did go up to both Nebraska and Iowa State
for junior days. I did plan on going up to Lincoln last month for their game but
stuff just popped up. My teammate,
Christian Suntrup, went up there and he told me about the fan base and how
many people were there - something like 80,000 fans. He told me the game was
really cool."
Standard earned first team all-state honors for his efforts
this season and was named the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Year.
As a sophomore, he rushed for 2,350-yards and 29 touchdowns. It is
exciting to see what his senior season will hold!
