It is rumored the Raiders are getting another D1 player. This player carries high credentials.

Don't have to give a name, but a position would be nice. Also is this a D-1 transfer or a highschooler recruited by D-1's that might be coming?

Supposedly another big time wing player from Alabama. I think he WANTED to come, but I hear it didn't work out. I could be wrong, but I don't think this kid is coming. But he was a guard from Alabama. I don't think he's coming.

That is a good question. Maybe he'll show up, maybe he won't. I hear he won't be there in the fall, but it's just hearsay. I don't know the reason.

Hey, nobody has,"run off to hide". I just had nothing else to add. When I heard it I thought it was a done deal. I expected it to be in the paper in a day, two at the most. It never hit. I still believe it, but, I do not know it. I know exactly who it was supposed to be and how it came about. Please see post below for additional info.

Three Rivers made another big splash by signing 6-2, 200-pound shooting guard Reaynundo Sturdivant from Sumpter County H.S. in York, AL. He averaged 21.8 pts., 12.5 reb., and 5.7 asst to earn 3A player of the year honors for the state champions.

He is also a big-time running back in football. He rushed for 3500 yards and scored over 30 touchdowns.

He had offers from Alabama St. and Alabama A & M, and Ole Miss and Mississippi St. both were recruiting him.

His half brother, Mario Austin played for Mississippi St. and was drafted in the 2nd round by the Chicago Bulls last year.

I assume this is the guy everyone was talking about earlier.

This is something I picked up. Hope it is of interest. Maybe Jamie will walk in the footsteps of Reaynundo.

Class 3A Boys Finals
Sumter Co, 62,
Montgomery Academy 40
BIRMINGHAM -- Reaynundo Sturdivant scored 20 points and had eight rebounds as Sumter County fought to claim the state 3A boys title. Top-ranked Sumter County (31-2) also got 12 points from Jamie Sturdivant. For Montgmery Academy (24-7), Robert Mooty had 12 points. Reaynundo Sturdivant won MVP honors.
