Oklahoma goes goes for 2 and the win with 6 seconds left and Navy sacks OU QB.
Oklahoma said Win or lose there will be no OT.
6-6 reg season record and a bowl loss on that call is Brett gone or back for another season?

The bowls with the big schools are pretty much destroyed. So many enter from the Sooners to Mizzou to 'Bama's of the world.

Hindsight being 20/20, don't see any Navy players entering.

I like what the service academies are doing mixing flexbone with pistol and gun. Outside of UNLVs Go-go offense it’s the one of the most creative and difficult offenses to defend in college football.

The service schools are going to get better and better over the coming years. With the top tier talent going 3 and out and the transfer portal accelerating musical chairs.

The one constant is going to be 4 and 5 year starters who play consistently for one scheme/program.

Can’t overstate the advantage here.

while i enjoyed seeing OU lose Navy couldnt beat any top tier SEC team

I wouldn't be bragging too much about beating this edition of OU FB just saying................

You gotta love the academies.

No NIL money, grueling academics, every day is booked from dawn to dusk, no star recruits.

When they graduate, there’s no NFL contracts; instead, they’re off to serve active duty.

They’re 1/2 the size of every opponent and couldn’t touch their collective team speed.

But they’re tough. Focused. Play their asses off and play so far above their talent level it’s daunting to watch.

They play the game like it was meant to be played: tough, disciplined, no egos, and proud to be selfless.

Mad respect.

Kids do leave the academies. I believe the rule is they can leave after year one or two.

That being said, you’re right: Almost always, they’re there for the duration. No one is looking to transfer to up their draft pick potential or win more games.

They’re wholly committed and proud to play for their respective academy.

They have to leave before the 1st day of the 3rd year. If they do it after they have to repay for their education.

You won’t see this a lot as most of the ones getting significant playing time are juniors and seniors. Many don’t breakout til then so this is definitely and advantage for the academies as they get to develop especially along the lines.
