Nations longest winning streak!

Lamar is just a play or two away from having a zero game winning streak. Lutheran North and Ava both gave them a scare in the playoffs last year. But, also, they are a play or two from having an 85 game winning streak. Two losses on the final play of the game two straight years to Carl Junction.

It will be. “Our boys are training hard. Our first game is at Logan Rogersville” And some Bill Belichick like responses I’m sure!
As some one who has interviewed more coaches than I can count for more years that I want to admit, a majority of coaches respond to every question in this or a similar manner. If I ever hear a coach answer with "We're going win, and probably easily" I'm gonna retire on the spot. lol

I wonder how many more championships they would have piled up if that had a playoff system before that.

Kind of apples and oranges. Back then schools didn’t travel like they do now. A majority of Jeff City’s wins came against schools not even half their size because they played the available schools in the area.

Undoubtably still a heck of a streak

Valle and webb both had streaks close to this. I think valle was 51ish when lamar beat them in 16

It would be interesting to see what Class of school and their season records were that these teams beat during their streaks. The majority of schools that Jeff City played had to be smaller than they were. I know Lamar plays up a lot and I would imagine that Platte Co. did also.

Wrong . They lost to Joplin in the jamboree. Streak over
I didn't realize they played 4 quarters during the Jamboree. What I saw was Joplin couldn't run the ball, but was successful throwing up jump balls. For which the Joplin receivers made great plays. On the flip side Lamar was not very effective running the ball. Lamar did get to 1 or 2 yard line then brought in the JV, I can't explain that one. But yes class 6 Joplin did kick Lamar's class 2 butt in 12 plays....congratulations Joplin 2018 Jamboree champions.

Joplin was very rude in the stands as well. I was disappointed. They played that jamboree like a super bowl. Kinda funny really.

No fan base. I sat apparently in the Eagles Nest. (Had zero clue never been to a Eagles game) and they told me about it. I got up and moved.(After being cussed at and told to move) Some of the students processed to move where I moved to, and stood in front of me. I asked them to please sit down. And they said no. And F you. I processed to find someone to say how awful of treatment the fans were towards me. And the man I found talked to someone. I moved somewhere else. And processed to hear a lot more foul language towards other teams when Joplin did something well. I’m not saying everyone in Joplin behaves this way. I’m saying it was a awful experience.

Sorry for the bad experience Micheal. Ive been to probably close to 100 Joplin games and never noticed that type of behavior. If I witnessed it id speak up. As for Joplin playing hard or like its a super bowl. Well football is a game of emotion and should be played that way. Joplin is trying to change its culture to a winner like Lamar and Webb. Its not easy. I assume you were there in support of Lamar. Looks like you will have another great season. Lamar looked good against Joplin and Webb.

I have family in Lamar. But I go watch new teams every year. I plan on seeing Blair Oaks this year, and Monroe City. I make it to watch some Lamar games every year to cheer them on. Thank you. It really wasn’t a indictment on all Joplin fans. If I came across that way I’m sorry. Just was disappointed was all.

I think that Lamar was pumped up for the Webb City matchup. After all the talk about whether or not Lamar could compete with WC, the boys wanted to come out and prove that they could. Then in the Joplin scrimmage, the boys let down, had several bad center snaps that killed the timing on the plays, and a few penalties, and just looked unfocused. The varsity did move the ball down the field to the one yard line in spite of all their mishaps. But, Lamar took out the varsity after 12 scripted plays and brought in the freshmen and JV. Joplin was supposed to do the same thing but, they decided to leave their varsity in to keep Lamar from scoring. On offense, Joplin was able to hit a couple of passes, one was an exceptional catch, to score on Lamar.

The celebrations by the Joplin boys was a little over the top. The chest bumping and dancing was a little excessive in my opinion, especially for a jamboree. And the crackback hit on the Lamar freshman on the last play of the scrimmage should have drawn a penalty. And the celebrating afterwards by the Joplin boys while that Lamar boy was down on the ground, trying to catch his breath was a little uncalled for. Again, just my opinion.

Totally forgot about the hit. That was uncalled for. I left right before it. I heard it was bad.

As a Joplin fan I did not like the OVER celebrating. But is a crack back block illegal? Joplin looked pretty good overall I figured they would struggle on Def. against a Lamar offensive they never see or prepare for, Im not sure if anyone in the COC runs the wing. I noticed Coach Jasper having a talk with the freshman or soph who made the crack back block after the Jamboree ended. Can't imagine 14,15,16,17 year old kids making mistakes.
