1. Hardest hitting game by both I have seen in a while
2. Fumble on Webb's first touch of the ball was huge for Kearney led to a score. (hope that kiddo is ok)
3. Kearney consistently giving and not breaking had to be frustrating for Webb
4. Webb going for it on 4th down early in the 3rd giving KHS midfield position was huge considering how their D has played all year.
5. I thought to many penalties called on both teams IMO let them play but hey you call what you see I guess.
6. I think this game was one for the ages close all game will be the best game of the weekend is my guess.

Over the last 15 yrs I met some of you Webb posters I like you guys what a program you have everything we hope to be. Today was our day last year was yours but hope for both teams to keep it going love these games win or lose prefer to win but even in a loss oh well we are just another W for Webb what else is new. Got to see a few of you today I had a feeling about this Kearney team that I would not post but I could tell with the way the D had played all year that this was possible. But I also can say when you had the ball inside the one I figured we were going to lose but funny how the ball bounces sometimes.

Excellent post. In a game that comes down to basically the last play of the game there are several plays you look back and and wonder if something went differently. I have tremendous admiration for how WCs coaches have done things over the years and no less so after today. I thought they made the right calls and in the end Kearney wound up one play better. I don't think it was the best WC played all year but I think it was the most determined opponent WC has played in years and you just don't beat a team like Kearney going -4 in turnover margin.

WC has a lot of big shoes to fill but hopefully in a year or two we can meet and do this again.

Roderique clearly fumbled at the 20 on that last drive (not even close)... game should have been over at that point. Justice served.

Kearney certainly proved its program is moving up big time...............I thought it would be a "rebuilding" year nope it was a "reloading" one, a real good sign going forward. The #1 thing I want to see from Webb next year is Vanlue shaking off his fumble and using it as motivation. Since so many other C4 teams were senior heavy this year I have to assume these two are 1-2 preseason 2016.

Unless Webb is Class 5

The block in the back call that brought back 40's td was just bad,,,the roughing the kicker call was terrible,,,and they replayed the first "fumble" at the goal line ,,the ball was easily in the end zone in his possession before it came loose. Three terrible calls that cost Webb 18 points, why was the flag on jones just a sideline warning instead of unsportsmanlike on him??? He was ten yards on the field in the officials face it wasn't just a sideline violation

Roderique fumbled the ball on the 20..? See the Webb player rip the helmet off of a Bulldog by his facemask? Refs didn't either.

Next year will be first real down year for Webb in long time, unless some of this years soph class really pic it up. I think without Smith the defense for Webb will be impacted...how much, dont know but I do know that the players give him tremendous credit for alot of Webbs success. It will hurt more than having to deal with a much weaker junior class.

Come on blaming the officials is ridiculous, two great programs.
Two great teams calls in football in every game go both ways. These
are high school officials just feel fortunate you have guys that officiate
for such little money. Amazing how Webb coach didn't blame officials
because he knows they are doing a service for the kids, they don't
have replay and that is not their occupations. So the game was a great
high school football just appreciate that. It is not college ball where millions
of dollars is on the line or pro ball.

No way Webb coaching staff would blame anyone but themselves after the game in public.

During the game though, after penalties on his players for helmet to helmit hits and personal fouls it sure appeared to me Webb coach was out pointing where his kids got hit and injured but no calls were being made. Might have just been my imagination but I don't think they were discussing what they had for thanksgiving dinner

Fanforever your just wrong both fumbles near the goal line came out before the end zone if you don't believe me check out Time Warner cable out of KC they have great video of both of them actually you guys got a call on the QB fumble Ozarksports.com has pictures of the ball out before he is down so no bad call what so ever. I thought both teams were over penalized though.

Seemed like the officiating wasn't a deciding factor. Seems like things balanced out between good calls and bad.

Bottom line is if you want to be state champs you need to be able to execute a clean exchange on a one yard dive play. Pretty much no one to blame other than yourself after that. It's a hell of a way to lose but that's the way the game goes sometimes.

A big part of football is not making mistakes and Kearney did a better job of that and very well may have beat a more talented team. All we can say for sure is by the rules of the contest they are State Champs and nothing anyone brings to light can change that now.

The best thing to do is just be a good sport and congratulate the other guy and move on. These games aren't life and death and a narrow lose isn't the worse thing that will ever happen. In all reality we've been overly fortunate at WCHS and shouldn't expect anyone to feel sorry for us.

At the end of the day we're talking about 16, 17 and 18 year old young men. We should be grateful to see them have the positive experiences they have had and be proud of all they have achieved. It's easy to let your personal disappointment cloud this reality but I suspect that eventually the grown ups will get over it. From what I saw the players already are.

Both teams played their hearts out . I love when these teams play no backing down, no quit in either one.
As for the two fumbles, yes they were both fumbles , one on the 19 yard line . And the of course the other on the goal line. Vanlue never had position of the ball, bad hand-off. saw the news last night it is really clear. Hats off to both teams really hard hitting hard fought game.

Personally I was over the "controversial" issues the minute this one ended yesterday. As has been correctly pointed out it is like 2008............the result is in time to move on. Overall perspective of the Kearney-Webb series is very interesting, though: 2002 was a shootout closer than the final score, 2003 was an anomaly, 2008 was a lot like yesterday very physical but without all those pens, 2009 was again closer than the final score indicated but K wore Webb down 2nd half of that one, 2014 was reflective of the final score a clearly better Webb squad, 2015 we just saw.
