About 15 years ago I attended a MSHSAA playoff game where Westport was the home team (some of you call this the host). I believe the game was played at Southeast High School.

Unaware that this stadium had separate stands, separate concessions, separate bathrooms, and even separate parking lots for each team, I drove my car into the wrong lot ... and my life was forever changed.

After exiting my vehicle, a Westport fan politely told me I was in the wrong parking lot. I knew I couldn't let this transgression stand so I got up on my high horse and shouted "HOW DARE YOU, SIR! YOU CANNOT CONTAIN ME!!!! MY MSHSAA RIGHTS WILL BE RESPECTED OR ELSE!"

Actually, that isn't what happened. I thanked him, drove around to the parking lot reserved for my team, and enjoyed the football game.

No self-righteousness, no entitlement, no panties in a bunch, no whining on a message board, no playing the victim, just a simple "Thank You".

Sorry my story wasn't as entertaining as others.

I understand what your saying and years after the fact it's easy to post and see the the pettiness of the situation. But in real time when you take off work, drive several hours, spend money for gas and food, stand in line for two to three hours to secure a decent seat only to be told you can't sit there is frustrating. Especially when by the time your told to move there is no longer a place to move to. Just my thoughts.
