MSHSAA passed Week 9 playoff...and format TBD.

So football coaches recommended less football? Just an awful awful decision to start districts in week 9. Why? So football can be finished by thanksgiving and basketball gets their usual 24849 week season? Just mind-boggling. I’m under the assumption the football advisory board OKd that and then the board of directors voted on it.

So the COC now has to squeeze 9 games in 8 weeks? Will they play on Wednesdays and Mondays to work around soccer games?

The season will start a week earlier. If you got 9 or 10 teams in your conference you were probably lucky to get play all of them as it was. I'm pretty sure the OC didn't get to play everyone. I'm for getting back to being done after Thanksgiving.

Why not eliminate the jamborees? — a pointless and meaningless exercise that accomplishes nothing — and worse, gives all the other sports ammunition to do the same.

For example: We already have a 26 game soccer season. Do we really need a jamboree to figure out what won’t learn in 26 soccer games?

There was a chance to eliminate it a couple of years ago but coaches didn't want to. It's a glorified scrimmage. Get rid of jamboree and move everything up a week. Still got your 10 games.
You would have to move practice start time up a week if you do that. And that is where it gets tricky.

Tell the governor we need to move up start times for the good of the state entertainment industry and then we can roll.

Or 49 teams in class 6 through 2.

Carthage goes to Class 6. As does NKC and Truman. LOL

West Plains and Hillsboro move to Class 5

In Class 4, Savannah would possible face McLuer North, 1.6x bigger in the state championship.

Good plan.

Not officially voted on yet, just informal polling of meeting attendees. Administrators and Coaches still have the opportunity to get on the same page.

Go look at the class 1 spread in the last 20 years
