St. Louis has won a championship every year for the last 15 years. SEMO has won a championship every year but 2006 and 2013.

um....Vashon didn't end up winning some of those. I don't know why MSHSAA hasn't updated their records.

Well, Kickapoo (even with Vashon cheating) only lost by three in the actual state title game in 2006 (58-55 - Tyler Richardson missed a three at the buzzer to send the game into OT). I think Liberty got one and maybe DeSmet. Vashon had to give up three of them.

Why did they have to give them up?

Vashon was forced to vacate their 31-0 2004 championship.............

2004----Class 4 Vashon defeated Kearney 68-55 in the championship game. I'm guessing Kearney should be the class 4 " champion for the record " in 2004. Could someone check this out for the record?

I remember that game very well. KTown actually had the lead at half but wore down late. I don't believe they have ever "claimed" the C4 title even with the sanctions against Vashon and Irons.

Yes, Liberty, Kickapoo, and Kearney got state titles as a result
Although I know 2004 was under unexpected circumstances this makes Kearney a two-time FB-BB in the same school year champion (did it outright in 2009-2010..............the Borgia game was almost as surreal as this past November's Webb FB title game). I feel pretty confident they would be the only school to have pulled that off BUT could always be wrong.

Jefferson is in NWMO and their coach was Tim Jermain not Jim.
Meadville came out of NEMO.

Is there some formal "claiming" ceremony or something?

I used to think that as well, until Hollister got the 99 Championship. They ended up making them Forfeit instead of just vacating the win and stripping the title.

Maybe it's the second place I'm thinking of then?
