MSHSAA actually did something that made sense

I know this is the football thread, but didn't know where else to post it, since this is such a rare occurrence. The C5D7 championship baseball game between Webb and Mac County was moved to a neutral field in Neosho that is located between the two schools. Made a lot more sense than making these two schools travel to Warrensburg. So MSHSAA finally did something right! Of course, they are getting rewarded handsomely, since it is a full house here.

Very good game! Webb won 2-0. Kaylor Darnell was dominating on the mound tonight.

Solid program, played a tough schedule this year. Good young coach in his first year as a head coach after paying his dues as an assistant. Pipeline is loaded with talent down from upperclassmen through freshman all the way down through junior high.

Personally I think that is where they are headed. I know a ton of families there and the devotion to baseball is unreal. Some have given up football so they can play more baseball in the fall. Of course many play football too and love that but seems like baseball is #1 with many kids there now.

They will still be good at football but it's not an exaggeration to say their baseball pipeline is loaded for at least the next 6 years but probably much longer.

Some of these current players made it to the Midwest Regional in their day, but the last LLWS bunch graduated in 2021. They should have won districts and had it 3 years in a row this year, but the bats went silent in the district title game that year with Glendale.

It should be fun! I'm planning to go watch the game. Will be very hard for Kaylor Darnell to match last night's 2-hit, 8 strikeout performance from the mound. Should be another close exciting game.

This only makes sense financially.

I always thought it was weird that Webb wasn't ranked during the regular season. A lot of people go off of records and not who you play.

Watched from home as I could last Saturday WHAT A GAME, folks. 3-2 Webb on a steal of home plate late in a very tight one where both sides had multiple chances to break out offensively but a lot of that was outstanding pitching. Good luck Webb this weekend in Ozark!
