Most Players Drafted by State

Couple things:

1) At least we know now that you're a youngster; part of that generation that's not allowed to hold an opinion that hurts someone's feelings

2) You have to declare for the draft to be drafted, and Dylan has elected to play his Senior year at MSU (still the number 43 LB prospect in college according to nfldraftscout.com though)

3) No matter how many times you post, St. Louis and East St. Louis will remain two different cities in two different states

I think Lee's Summit West has 7 linebackers ranked higher. They send linebackers to college that don't even start!!!

1. You must be really old if you are the Worlds of Fun guy guessing peoples age based on posts.
2. I wish I was the 43rd ranked linebacker on a web page.
3. I will post as many times as it takes to help people realize that St. Louis is set up like Kansas City and there are two states that claim Kansas City and two states that claim St. Louis. but you keep adding a direction on there to make it seem like someone left out East.

Nelly loves you!

Can I put an end to this stupidity as East St. Louis doesn't really factor in at all. EE lived in Alton, which isnt in East St. Louis.

He lived in Alton, IL. Not St. Louis, not East St. Louis. So not sure what exactly you're arguing.

Last time I checked the map which you can refer too, Alton Illinois was not in East St Louis....

There is really no argument. Some people can not figure out that St. Louis is in both Illinois and Missouri. But since it does not say East St. Louis then a huge confusion started for some and it is around day 4 of trying to figure out if East St. Louis, Illinois is the same as St. Louis, Illinois. I think everyone knows EE is from Alton, ILL. ESPN did a nice E:60 on him after he was drafted. Pretty cool!

There IS no St. Louis Illinois! (There is, however, an East St. Louis Illinois).

To further drive it home, consider this: the professional sports teams in St. Louis (Cardinals, Blues, and formerly the Rams) deal exclusively with the municipalities of St. Louis (MO), St. Louis County (MO), and the state of Missouri; they have NO dealings whatsoever with the local governments of East St. Louis (IL), St. Clair County (IL), or the state of Illinois.

Still think St. Louis is in both IL and MO? Whatever...

He was coached in St. Louis, MO, played in St. Louis, MO, and was recruited because of what he achieved in St. Louis, MO.

His genetic make-up generated from two Univ. of Missouri alums.

To call him anything but a "Missouri" product would lack logic.

First and foremost I am not knocking the kid, but you are wrong. Simply put the Kid nor his parents were or are residents of Missouri they have probable never paid one dime of taxes to Missouri public schools. Maybe at one time his dad played football for Missouri and his mom attended Missouri but they no longer support the program or the school and you might as well call them buckeyes now and they probable burned any thing they had from Missouri or donated it to goodwill long ago. Sorry Ezekiel Elliot has about as much a claim as being from Missouri as Stef Djordjevic.

Dressed in a red Ohio State shirt with gray sleeves, Stacy sported a big smile as the Buckeyes picked up perhaps their biggest verbal commitment of the 2015 recruiting class. It was almost personal satisfaction.

"I love this stuff," Stacy told cleveland.com

If it were any other player's parent, it may have been strange to see them at another prospect's commitment ceremony. But this is Elliott, who is everywhere when it comes to Buckeyes recruiting.

Because Elliott has been appointed by Urban Meyer and his staff as a helper, someone they bring in when they host big-time recruits to talk to parents and give testimonials about Ohio State and how it handled the recruiting process.

"I didn't know that when I came to Columbus that coach Urban Meyer would ask me and my family to help," Stacy said. "It was not something I brought to him, but Coach Meyer and I have a developing relationship and that relationship is based on that I saw how much he cares about his student athletes.

"He puts in a lot of time to better the situation of the athletes who come in. When he asked me to talk to families about the process, that's how I got involved."

I think most people consider Belleville, E. St. Louis, etc in the St. Louis metro area. If I'm on vacation out of state and someone asks I say I'm from St. Louis even though I live 60 miles away. Not sure why this is so important.

That makes about as much since as me saying I am from Rogers Ark, because I live within is 60 miles of all of that. What are you drinking this morning.

I think you are the one on crack with this topic. Someone from Florida or Ohio has no idea where my hometown is, but they know exactly where St Louis is.

So you know where my home town is by me saying Rogers ARk? come on that is lame. So just because you live within 60 miles of St Louis in another state you are saying a kid should be called a resident of Missouri...what the h#ll...I want what you are having.

To be fair, no one knows where Rogers, AR is. Saying I'm from St. Louis is much easier than saying, I'm from Hillsboro. Because inevitably they'll ask where is that, to which I'll wind up saying, Close to St. Louis.

How is this not easy to understand?

It is pretty easy... but I want to know how all this makes living within 60 miles of St Louis and in another state somehow makes you are Missouri Resident or from Missouri?

It doesn't. This post has gotten super convoluted. Admittedly if I was from Alton or Red Bud or Granite City I'd probably say I was from St. Louis just to avoid the conversation, but from a draft perspective, EE is FROM Illinois, he just went to high school in Missouri.

Does it make sense or since? East St. Louis or St. Louis. Kansas City, MO or Kansas City, KS.

Just add a direction to the name and claim it as something else.

West St. Louis or East St. Louis.

If youre not careful, your posts will exceed your number of likes.....

You are correct sir! But to say there is no St. Louis, Illinois only a East St. Louis, Illinois is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time.

Someone get him a map...

I understand it is East St. Louis, Illinois. But when someone says St. Louis, Illinois do you seriously correct them and say, "Don't you mean East St. Louis, Illinois.

What is the guy says, "I am from Des Moines, Iowa!" Do you question whether he means Des Moines or West Des Moines. As I am sure those few blocks make a world a difference where someone is from! But since it has a direction on it - such as West or East, then it really changes everything.

A world A difference? Or a world OF difference?

(I don't normally do this, but the irony of you correcting Bullit's spelling just a few minutes earlier was just too funny :D)

There were 2 spelling errors in there, but you caught one!! 50% - gives you an F, but great effort!

Bravo; this was actually pretty good ;)

The way you argue with cold hard facts; did you used to play baseball for Mt. Vernon and then eventually for Drury??? :D:D:D

No one is arguing but you. Fact of the matter St. Louis is like Kansas City and is on both sides of the imaginary state line. Call it what you will! Next you will be telling everyone there is an actual state line as it says so on a map!

now that made me chuckle a little bit!

Well this is a football board so I doubt anybody posting on here has heard of Springfield MO, so I guess I could say Webb City...

But that does not matter, if you live in Illinois you cannot claim to be from Missouri end of story, that would be like a man claiming to be a woman to use the ladies restroom. o_O:rolleyes:

Ironically, there is such a physical, real life line between Missouri and Illinois (it's called the Mississippi River :D)

Seriously, you are on such shaky ground here with these arguments (both geographically and municipally )

I know everything said over a 3rd grade reading level is hard for you to understand - so here is a picture. the make belief dotted line - you probably would argue that is it real and there are actual lines out there separating each state. You would probably argue those are actual nets in Lake Michigan dividing it.

Wow, you're even younger than I thought; I'll put this on words you can understand...

I know you are but what am I!

Here is an actual conversation between Mits and Sleepless!

Mits: Where are you from?
Sleepless: St. Louis
Mits: Yeah but which St. Louis? North St. Louis, East St. Louis, West St. Louis, or South St. Louis.
Sleepless: There is only one St. Louis and I am from it.
Mits: I know but which direction?
Sleepless: Well technically North St. Louis then
Mits: But the map doesn't say North St. Louis
Sleepless: I know that is why I said St. Louis
Mits: But the map says there is a East St. Louis so isnt there a directional st. louis for each direction.
Sleepless: No, that would be stupid, people from St. Louis just say St. Louis calling out a direction would make us sound like an idiot.
Mits: Well I am from West Des Moines and we say West Des Moines
Sleepless: How is that different from Des Moines?
Mits: Nothing, it is just the West Side of Des Moines.
Sleepless: Well Why wouldn't you just say Des Moines?
MIts: Well I do when people ask where I am from, but technically I from West Des Moines.
Sleepless: Right but it just makes you sound like an idiot when people relate to Des Moines and not West Des Moines.
MIts: Well yes, so I see! You are technically from East St. Louis but to not sound like a complete idiot, you just say St. Louis.
Sleepless: Yes, I understand there is this magically dotted line on maps that doesn't exist in real life but we use it as a guide. A cut off if you will. Even the Mississippi River doesn't have a dotted line at the bottom of it painted on there. it is just a scale on a map. Please tell me you understand this.
Mits: Even I know there is no dotted line painted anywhere that separates West Des Moines from Des moines, but if you give your home town a direction it gives it a little mystery. Everyone should do it: East LA, West Dallas, North Philadelphia. Oh wait there is a North Philadelphia and a North Kansas City.
Sleepless: you realize those are still part of Kansas City and Philly right?
Mits: Yes but it - wait, I make zero sense and just like arguing, hold on lets just say #31 is the 78th rated LB'er in all of college football according to this one sports writer.

But yeah - I am the one struggling!

Clearly.

There is a city in Missouri called Saint Louis; there is also a city right across the Mississippi River in the state of Illinois called East Saint Louis...

Those are called facts; but by all means keep digging! You might eventually make it to China (because I really believe that; I really believe that if you dig deep enough you'll make it to China </sarcasm>)

I felt like I had to embed the sarcasm code or it would have gone over your head

I guess it depends which St. Louis you are in if you hit China or not, I mean according to you they are roughly the same size (China and St. Louis and all its directions)

Well Mits when I went to Miami this past winter for 3 months, I visited South Beach. But they told me it was still part of Miami. At the time I believed them. I wish I would of had your logic back then. It has a direction attached so it clearly is not part of Miami. Kansas City, KS really missed the boat and should of attached West Kansas City to it. it would have saved everyone all the trouble of trying to figure out this puzzle.
