Alright coaches, here's your chance to shine. Would you have more team basketball @ Chaminade and take the ball out of Jayson Tatum's hand or let Jayson do his thing? I only know one coach who would play team basketball with this Chaminade squad and he's retired.

Not sure what is meant by team ball vs. him doing his thing. One thing I could guarantee, he'd lead any team I coached in shot attempts. Shooting isn't equal opportunity. But he'd better lead in rebounding and defensive touches too. Convince him to be the best screener too. Never forget hearing Larry Legend talk about how much easier shooting became for him when he bought in to becoming the best screener on the floor. More top scorers could benefit from that nugget.

Good points by eagle ball however I'm convinced that Jayson Tatum is the best @ every basketball category on the Chaminade squad. This Chaminade squad will be favored against any Missouri opponent this season by more then 12 points. Chaminade is a match up nightmare for any competing team in Missouri. Who will be the second best team in St. Louis this year? St. Louis University High, CBC and Cardinal Ritter will be good.

By "doing his thing" do you mean just take the ball and do whatever he wants all the time? 1 on 5? I'd hate to think any coach would do that but I'm sure there are some who would. You can play a team game and still have one guy be the primary focus. Learning how to involve your teammates, help them be better and use them to help you be better is something every player needs to learn, even the best ones. As Eagles says, good players need to learn to play the whole game not just with the ball in their hands. It would be a detriment to him at the next level if he didn't.

I'm sure Jayson Tatum has big influence on the coach @ Chaminade but the coach runs the team. Having said that, I'm sure Jayson could order the the coaches to run sprints with the team and they would comply.

Olround, if you were the coach @ Chaminade, would you run sprints with the team if Jayson Ordered you run? Eagle Ball, 3Rfan, The coach @ Father Tolton, The coach @ Hayti, The coaches @ Webster if he would move to Webster Groves, Thumb and others would say, " Yes Sir " Singles or doubles.

I would bet the team will want to average 70+ ppg. I would also bet Tatum doesn't get more than half that amount in very many games. It IS a team game and he will surely let his teammates help him win. As for your silly question, not just no but hell no!
