The Week
Last week the 2011-2012 prep basketball season in Missouri
began with a couple tournaments, a couple shootouts, and some exciting
basketball.
While a lot of the state was focused on Show-Me Bowl football
South Iron was busy winning the
85th
Arcadia Valley Tournament for the 17th time in tournament history.
In front of an overflow crowd on Thanksgiving night the Panthers shut down
Central (Park Hills) in the final quarter to earn the 45-31 victory.
Senior Bryce Dolan connected on 8 three point baskets,
finishing with 28 points as the host Knights earned the title in the
59th
Borgia Turkey Tournament defeating McCluer North 48-46 in the championship
game.

Jordon Granger earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
The Auburn recruit was joined on the all-tournament team by
University City's Travon Williams
Borgia's Bryce Dolan;
Washington's Luke Schroepfer;
Borgia's Jacob Martin;

McCluer North's Byron Ray;
Washington's Jared Walde;
McCluer North's Tremayne Garrett; and

A great event for a great cause
On Saturday and Sunday in Columbia the Missouri Basketball
Coaches Association will host the Norm Stewart Classic at Columbia College.
This two day event features 10 games from some of the top boys and girls
programs from across the state of Missouri. The event is named after former
University of Missouri coach, player, and Missouri Legend Norm Stewart.
Proceeds from this event go to the American Cancer Society, Missouri Basketball
Coaches Association, and Special Olympics Missouri.
