MOsports Football Question of the Day, first answer gets....26 points

2 part question:
What was the last year the Missouri State football championships were held at Busch Stadium?

Which two high schools that year who won are either no longer open, or go by a different name?

First answer wins!

No need, I'm maxed out too.

Well, 85 is the year.. but of the schools that WON, that year. I think only MICDS has changed from Country Day... Rock Port is still there but they play 8 man football.

I misread and was wrong. 85 was the year Pem Hill went coed. Other than what Sooner said about Rock Port, those other schools that won are all open.

1985

Saint Louis Country Day merged with Ladue Mary Rhodes Eliot Institute to form (L)M(RE)I(&SL)CDS.

The other four schools (Rock Port, Hazelwood Central, Saint Louis John Burroughs and Chillicothe) are currently closed.

For the 85-86 school year Pembroke Day and Sunset Hill joined to become Pembroke Day.
For the 91-92 school year Mary Institute and Country day joined to become MICDS.

I was there at the 1980 1st Show Me Bowl played at Busch and I made $400 for the year as an assistant coach. The field, I think, was asphalt and was covered by Astroturf about 1/16 of an inch thick. The pitchers mound on the west end about the 20 yard line was a sheet of tin with the same thickness of Astroturf glued on it.
The 1st 3 games that day were all a big step up from each but that 4A game was a major step up in talent.
If I remember right, Webster Groves played their Turkey Bowl game on Thursday with their 1st team and then barely beat Jeff City on Saturday.

Although the buildings may be closed, none of those other schools are closed. Just a different form of teaching going on.

It would help if I had accurate information. For some reason I had 83 (Fall) as the last year, with Parkwood and Country Day (before merging with Mary Institute)...however I missed the 85 (Fall), which also included Country Day and no second team. I'm sorry for the error...for you efforts here is the scoreboard

Believe 1979 was the first year. Prior games were held at home sites or neutral if they needed better seating.
