Do you seriously think that even if the gun laws were stringent that this guy would have been denied a permit?
I don't give a **** what or who the NRA is. I'm not a member nor have I ever been. If you don't think gun owners are sad by gun deaths then you're the **** dumbest smart kid i've ever communicated with. Expect and Bogey can't help it, their starving for brains, but use yours.
What gun restrictions would have stopped this man today? Making all hand guns illegal?

The NRA is in the business of promoting gun usage for sport and self-defense. When these crazies use a firearm to injure and kill people, who gets the most blowback? That's right, the NRA.
The NRA has more to lose when these things happen than any other business or organization. To say that they do not care when innocent people get killed is false.
I, like Duck, think that there has to be some sensible regulation to try to keep as many guns as possible out of the hands of the mentally impaired, or dangerous felons.

Are gun owners sad? Maybe. Are they willing to give an inch to prevent these deaths? Absolutely not. So what does it matter if they're sad or not?
What has the NRA lost in any shooting ever? I'd argue they've gotten more powerful.
Why would the **** NRA lose anything because of a nut job going off? How many NRA members have you seen in these shootings?

Why does a business or organization exist?
Either to make money, or advance their cause.
These shootings cost the NRA money defending themselves, as well as puts a black mark on their cause.
Why we are even discussing the NRA in this situation is a question. They have nothing to do with it. They advocate responsible gun use and ownership, not criminal acts committed. If I rammed my car into a crowd at a soccer game, would you be calling out Chevy?
Don't know if you can ever point at one isolated incident and say "This is what caused it." However, if you look at the data from other countries that have more restrictions on firearms and better mental health care and look at their gun homicides and compare them to the United States, it certainly seems like more restrictions and health care would prevent more things like this from happening. That'll never happen in the U.S. because the minute you try and raise these issues gun owners freak out that their guns will be taken away.
That's laughable. The NRA advocates on behalf of gun and ammunition manufacturers. They could give a crap about the average joe with a gun.
When has the NRA spent a dime defending themselves?

The NRA is largely a front group for arms makers at this point. Its goal is do what it takes to keep selling as much ammo and guns as is humanly possible. It knows where its bread is buttered.
How things like this can even be posted is beyond me. Why would I enjoy innocent people being shot by a nut with a gun?
I have never given a dime to the NRA and haven't even shot a gun in over 15 years. Talk about getting off on stupid stuff......you have that market cornered.
There is no answer to that question but it sure feels good to them to say things like they care enough to "do something" when nothing would work.

And if you don't think the NRA and gun manufacturers benefit from these shooting,s, the loser who killed the TV crew purchased his pistol two days after the Charleston killings. Every time there is a mass shooting guns sales skyrocket. They love this sh*t.
NRA has the government scared to death so there will be no change there and can't treat emotionally when the pubs are trying to eliminate health care and cut cut cut those types of programs.
Can you point out where anybody on here has said they want their grandchildren growing up in the Wild West? And where anybody here would like their kid to see a murder on live TV?

Gun nuts always say, what about cars? Should we ban them? And they are a perfect example. We have reduced the rate of deaths tremendously with regulation of their use, safety features, licensing, etc.
This approach has been stunningly successful. If we had the same auto fatality rate as in 1921, we would have 715,000 Americans dying annually from cars. We have reduced the fatality rate by more than 95 percent.
Yet in the case of firearms, the gun lobby has for years tried to block even research on how to reduce gun deaths. The gun industry made a childproof gun back in the 19th century but today has ferociously resisted “smart guns.” If someone steals an iPhone, it requires a PIN; guns don’t.
We’re not going to eliminate gun deaths in America. But a serious effort might reduce gun deaths by, say, one-third, and that would be 11,000 lives saved a year.
The United States is an outlier, both in our lack of serious policies toward guns and in our mortality rates. The U.S. firearm homicide rate is seven times that of the next country in the rich world on the list, Canada, and 600 times higher than that of South Korea.
We need universal background checks with more rigorous screening, limits on gun purchases to one a month to reduce trafficking, safe storage requirements, serial number markings that are more difficult to obliterate, waiting periods to buy a handgun — and more research on what steps would actually save lives. If the federal government won’t act, states should lead.

My take on all of this. The latest incident of the killing of a reporter and cameraman happens and I don't equate it to Sandy Hook, Columbine, Aurora theater shooting, the church in SC, etc. We waste our breathe on every shooting act when we should concentrate on the shootings that involve weapons the that involve magazines that hold many bullets. As has been said no one uses these weapons to hunt and they should be made illegal.
You are going to have some shootings like the latest and you will never stop it and any kind of gun control won't stop it. Choose your battles and go after them full force, but don't waste time on every shooting.

I find it funny that you start spouting the same tired stop overreacting to gun deaths stuff everytime a tragedy occurs. You never suggest a solution, you only want to put stomp your feet and say don't take my guns.

I actually have suggested solutions, plenty of times. It's not my fault your reading skills lack when they remove the pictures from the page.
It is exactly the same MO as saying the conservatives or Repubs haven't offered any solutions only saying no to everything. Just because you don't agree with the solution doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Except it's actually true in a lot of cases. Can you name a single republican presidential candidate who has proposed their replacement for obamacare?
