I never, ever root against any kids regardless of where they attend HS but always glad to see small town, public schools like this win. HUGE accomplishment.
Poor kid will remember that TD/INT the rest of his life. Had it then taken away, wow.
He threw 4 int’s during this game, and he didn’t provide much offense during this game. So the int didn’t decide this game. Valle’s overall play did, and Monroe’s great play did. No excuses. Congrats Monroe City!
the receiver not qb. My point is he will think about that play for ever. Not that it should have any bearings on his life success as stated above.
Not sure about the MC int in the end zone. Dual possession goes to offense. Refs conferred and called touchback so receiver didn't come down with it I suppose??

It wasn't dual possession. Valle receiver had the ball. (Should be play over/TD) then Monroe kid grabbed the ball and took it away. A great play by him, a major missed call by the officials. It should have been a Valle TD
Great game to watch, I thought it looked like a td but that's football. Great sportsmanship on both sides, not one play decided this contest, both teams had numerous chances, congrats to MC, they played the better game IMO
I disagree. I think it was clearly an interception. It would have been dual possession if both came down to the ground with the call. Simply getting 2 hands on the ball is not possession.
Two hands (with control and no one else's hands) on the ball, and both feet down, is a TD. The group of coaches/officials I was sitting with (on the goal line right in front of it) all agreed. Not saying that we couldn't be wrong, but it was unanimous between the ten of us or so, even after watching it again.
I should also add, I was rooting for MC, was happy MC won, and think that MC played the better overall game.
It's not an excuse. I agree with you that MC played the better game. That doesn't change the missed call.
I suppose it depends on if the completion rule in high school differs from college or pros. The way it has been called at those levels the receiver might have feet down but has not competed the process of the catch. The pass was not incomplete however only because the DB that took it held the ball. If the DB had just slapped the ball out his hands at that point and it hit the ground I think it would be called incomplete.
I very easily could be wrong though. I certainly never officiated a game.
I have seen Monroe City play this is season. They liked to run the ball to wear out their opponents. Plus, a good defense and play a physical game.
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were still in high school. I apologize for having a conversation on a message board. By the way, if that making excuses comment wasn't directed at me, then who? No one else said anything even halfway resembling an excuse?
Did it really bother you that much that I said you were being hypersensitive a couple weeks ago? Because you're doing it again.
Or was it because I disagree about Higg being exposed, and share facts to back up why I disagreed, not to talk down on you, but simply because Higg and Holden are in the conference I follow the closest, and again, trying to have a conversation.
You might want to include "don't talk to me unless you agree" to all future posts. I just don't want you to have to deal with the pain and suffering of a disagreement. It can be like your own little safe space.

Monroe’s FB/LB #11 1st All State LB, much deserved. What about offense? Kid rushed for over 1600 yards in 12 games (yes he missed 3 district games) by running the dive, no sweeps or misdirection just smash mouth & no one could stop him. Close to 200 rushing in both the quarterfinal & semifinal, then 150 in the championship game. Am I missing something????
