The Missouri Football Coaches Association convention is this weekend. MAYBE there will be some hints at what is in store as far as class divisions and private school success formula as MSHSAA has a presentation to open Friday's festivities.

I guess there will be another meeting soon but right now it will be 64 smallest in class 1 and 32 in class 6 and then class 2, 3, 4, 5 will split the rest of the teams. Class 5 had 35ish teams last year as the catch all but will have closer to 50 next year. The corresponding movement will effect all of class 2-5.

I’ll say this again - if they keep 64 in class 1, with all the schools going 8-man - and the smaller class 2 schools dropping down a class - it will encourage more schools to switch to 8-man.

There is a regulation that in class 2-5 that schools aren’t matched up with schools twice their size. But that will not be a factor in class 1. Personally, I think it should. If the smallest 11-man team has 94 in their three-class enrollment - then the biggest class 1 school shouldn’t have more than 188.

I totally agree, to make class 1 64 teams is crazy

I don't see how they want class 1 be 64 if the highest class 1 school over 188? Class 1 will probably be catch-all

Does not matter what we think. Advisory board meeting next week, but this how MSHSAA said it will be. Once again the small schools get the shaft.

I agree, it will encourage more 8 man ball. Maybe that is what mshsaa wants?
