He should’ve entered it with about 10 mins left in the second half of the OU game. Solid move by his head coach to prove a point while losing an NCAA tourney game. Wanna make a bet that CM doesn’t add a transfer as good as Pinson for 21-22?
Hmm I think he’ll add a transfer better than Pinson, but not sure said transfer/s will be better than X next year. Especially if X lands in the right system. I’m also not sure how we would determine better, as the advanced metrics haven’t been good for X.
How did they look down the stretch against OU w/o him? He’s not great, but he’s the best they had. And he sat because CM was either pissed at him or thought Mitch was a better option. Either stupid or incompetent.
I would’ve had Pinson in. It was Buggs in for him btw. Martin obviously thought we had a better chance with Buggs in than Pinson and again there is some truth to that when looking at the metrics. I would’ve rolled the dice with Pinson even though he was playing a s****y game.
Whoa, chill out. I do not have one friend that was excited about the Martin hire. It was a meh hire and we are getting meh results. Underwood?!? The guy Martin has beat 3 years in a row? The guy who just lost in the round of 32 with his best team ever to little brother? The same guy who OK State is currently being punished for and will be banned from next years postseason because of his recruiting violations? The same guy who also had violations at SFA? Yea I’m not too upset with missing out on him.
Yes, that dude. The dude that wins games and has steadily improved Illinois. Here’s where MU fans lose me. They actually buy in to the cleanliness thing.
You honestly think CM was playing the metrics on Buggs? Speaking of Biggs, that’s about the level of transfer I expect.
I had Illinois losing to the Zags in the championship game. It was a bad loss for my bracket and a bad loss for Underwood. If you think Mizzou fans would be happy with a coach who makes the tournament once in 4 years, gets a one seed, and then loses to either a Mo State or SLU in the second round with one of the best teams in program history, you have another thing coming. The meltdown would be epic. Mizzou eats their own faster than any program.
Norm was dirty, Quin was dirty, Haith was dirty, but Martin absolutely not. Would I prefer a coach who bends the rules if it means competing for championships, sure. I still wouldn’t touch Underwood with a 10 ft pole.
It’s fair to say that the Big10 was definitely overrated and UI probably shouldn’t of been a 1 seed. But the 1 seed was I believe the 4th time in school history and the overall talent is undeniable. I don’t think it’s that far fetched to say this is one of the best teams in program history but let’s change that to the last 20 years. I’ll take your word for the 80s teams because I wasn’t alive then and have only seen stats/highlights
