Home of the Cubs!!
Heard this from a what I consider a very reliable source inside the machine.

I have heard many many times on here from what I think could be coaches or administrators that MSHSAA is basically ran by the member schools and therefore anything presented or voted on is by members schools.

However I got a call from a source that informed me that some AD's were told that if MSHSAA voted private schools out or into separate classifications... that the Missouri legislation would immediately disband MSHSAA and roll everything up under DESE. Basically threatening or putting the strong arm to MSHSAA not to mess with anything or else not the multiple nothing.

Now how is that fair if a majority of member schools feels that a change needs to be done? What are some thoughts on this if it truly is going on.

Let's see, which party overwhelmingly controls the Mo. House and Senate? Hmmmmnmmmm.

Not to say any of the above is or is not true, but, "C'MON MAN"
All this negativity, party bashing, rich vs. poor,, based on a post about an "unnamed source" that is stated to be "reliable" from a website where we are not required to use a name but rather a handle?

Oh come on. Which side goes to bat for school vouchers, etc. Be real.[/QUOTE/]

Im as conservative as they come and I know that Privates have an advantage.... I am guessing you are one of those guys that thinks our President is doing a good job and still blames Bush for everything? Come on... everything is not left and right.

Well I think this is very reliable, I asked why does Mshsaa just not call their bluff and force the vote and then see if the legislation will desolve Mshsaa? I was also told that one of the Missouri speakers home schools their kids and is trying to force public schools to take them. Not sure how I feel overall about that, but I think if our schools are not good enough then why are the sports programs? And if you are a legislator and you don't send your kids to public school..that pretty much sums it up how you feel about public education and the funding.

even if its true, sincerely doubt this is a Rep vs Dem thing.

Agreed. We know which party is likely to support private schools and vouchers. But it's also Missouri state politics- they're all corrupt as hell and bought and paid for by special interests. All of them. Jefferson City is D.I.R.T.Y.

AGREED! Jefferson City is a dump! The downtown area by the capitol is nice, but the rest of the city is awful. I try and speed through there whenever Im passing through!
I didn't mean physically, necessarily, but I was referencing those who inhabit the capitol building and the governor's mansion.

Pretty sure he is correct and you spelled it Butt! The Sad Man is on a rampage today! You are so good at trolling, good job Crack!
You're a troll now following me around. Pot meet kettle.
Cute picture of you on your moped.:)

Just showing you how dumb you look trolling the Goober world. That moped won me an Oscar Butt crack!
Just like I'm showing shoot how dumb he looks. I just didn't expect his wife to get involved. I'm done with you, it's hard to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Not sure the state rep sees it as a threat, i'm sure he thinks that the state would do a bang up job.

so every one is all up in arms that the state would be in charge of athletics, but its a good idea for the state to be in charge of educating the kids?

Yes, you seem very smart and well armed! It is a message board! When you graduate from high school you should try to get on Jeopardy. I bet you how would show the world just how armed you are.

I'm sure there are several dems in office that are sending their kids to private schools...I personally went to school with a state senator kid until he was pulled and put in private school. I doubt this has much to do if anything along political lines.

Coaches don't care about private/public.

You say that but... I heard majority of those who would vote would probable vote to separate or at the very least change the multiplier thus the threat.

Reason why the threat I would say the majority of the legislators and their big donors have a vested interest in private schools and the hardware they bring home.

Coaches won't vote. Administrators will.

Unless they have a voting administrator that values their opinion, nobody.
It's why most MSHSAA policy is not for the betterment of coaches or students. It's administrators, many of whom were too lazy or incompetent to be good coaches.

That is a great statement!!! 100 percent accurate! Wish I could give that last line a million likes! So true!

The problem is the private school parents get to vote on bond issues and school board elections so public school administrators may not want to hurt their feelings by pushing for separate championships. Seriously.
