St. Louis Vashon traveled to Father Tolton over the weekend and gave Tolton their first defeat by a Missouri team this year. Tolton is ranked # 1 among class 3 teams in Missouri and will no doubt lose this ranking to Kansas City Barstow a week before districts begin.

St. Louis Vashon will take the # 1 ranking in class 4 after this big road win. Vashon is very talented with great size and has played a strong enough schedule. The low point for Vashon was getting a " Clock Job " placed on them by a strong Chicago team. Coach Tony Irons rallied the troops very slowly with positive practices for a few days after the Chicago lost and then turned on the heat with more difficult practices which is in place today.

Father Tolton is a strong class 3 school with size and talent. Micheal Porter Jr. 6'9" is a strong leader of the team. Micheal Porter Jr. is using this tough lost as " Wake up call " to stop goofing around in practice and get down to business if we want to advance out of district. Tolton did not play the blame game for their lose but hope to use the lost as motivation to get down to business.

Kansas City Barstow by 10 points in the finals.

It sucks to lose but there is nothing like a "timely loss" near Districts to make a good team "sober up". I think those types of losses are really a "blessing in disguise.

You will not find a more talented player that is so humble. Give that credit to his parents for the right upbringing.

Why is there goofing around in practice? What is the coach and Porter doing at practice? It is there job to have the players focused and working.

You got the right two teams in the final anyway.

I agree that Michael is a very talented player not for sure if I agree with the class act. When I was at the game I noticed several times during timeouts, rather than listening to his coach, he was talking to his dad sitting in the stands. I wonder how his dad would like it if one of the women's players were talking to their parents during one of his timeouts. I also noticed that during the captains meeting, instead of shaking hands, Michael just ran out and began warming up without shaking hands.

You were at one game and that is what you saw?? Did you get there early enough to watch him interact with little kids, sign autographs and have his picture taken? And after the game, the same thing happens, and for a 16 year old kid, he signs every piece of paper, and has his picture taken until everyone else is satisfied. The team just doesn't leave the locker room and get on the bus, this happens everynight!!

Probably does those things for the attention. Knows how to play the game. Listening to his dad instead of the coach is sad. I have seen that many times also. Brother does it too. Dad is a micro manager behind the scenes.

Man you are so far off based it is not even funny! You really think he does all that for attention? Seriously.... You never see the kid tweet about his self and his accomplishments. It would be hard not to listen to dad. Dad has spent many hours developing him. His dad played in college and is a college assistant coach.
