Thanks for sharing...Michael Keck was/is special to the Harrisonville community along with many of us throughout football. Thanks to Sam Mellenger on a great article. For those teams who participate in the Michael Keck football camp (At Staley HS), I believe a percentage is given back to his memorial every year.

Outstanding story with meaningful insight. I have to admit to being one of those Mizzou fans that was frustrated with Keck and his decision to leave the Tigers. But, information has been slowly released over the years, culminating with this story, that has educated and helped me (and hopefully others) understand that every player is an individual with unique circumstances and perspective. Who am I to go sideways over a young man's decision to prolong his life for the love of his young family? Those are the things most of us don't and won't know about. My best to his wife and young son.
