At Blytheville—currently 9-6. They had already played 5 games when we played them and have talented personnel...over an hour and 15 minute drive

Dexter conference game

SEMO Conf tournament—Annually one of the toughest tournaments in the state

Notre Dame conference game—they just beat #4 Helias

St. Dom tournament—three straight days of 3 hour travel to St. Louis is not easy for any team. Fort Zumwalt South has been up and down this year, but typically a state-ranked Class 5 school. Wentzville Holt the year we got in was a top 5 school in St. Louis when we played them with Dantiel Daniels.

At Charleston—as tough as it gets on the road

McCluer—15 hours after Charleston. They are 9-4

At Chaminade

At Farmington who is state ranked in Class 4 and an hour and 45 minute drive

At Kennett, conference game and over an hour drive

Vs. Whitfield, Final 4 team from last year with great talent

FZN tournament—Helias, Ritenour and three straight 3 hour trips to St. Louis

At Poplar Bluff who has as much individual talent as anybody and an hour drive

Father Tolton, who won state in Class 3 and had the Porters intact when the game was scheduled

Vs Cape Central, conference game

At NMCC, conference game

Vs Caruthersville, state ranked in Class 3

At Miller Career -- another trip to St. Louis

Vs Jackson, conference game

Now if you don't think that is a good schedule, so be it. You can’t play Chaminade every night or some team from Georgia or North Carolina every night. Counting the jamboree, we are making NINE trips to St. Louis and another to Farmington and Blytheville, AR, Kennett..that’s a ton of travel and tough on anybody. There aren't many teams that will travel as much as Sikeston does this year. Rural teams like Sikeston don't have the luxury of playing teams 15-30 minutes away every night like most city schools. Some of the top schools in St. Louis have been contacted for games by Sikeston. They have declined the home and home offer. Can't say I blame them. They can get a tough game just minutes away rather than a 3 hour drive south.

I mean afterall, we are students, first, right? We have to check out of school to get to these places. We get in after midnight in many cases, with school the next day, then practice that afternoon. It’s a tough grind.

Very good MFloyd. Sikeston is the 3rd largest high school in Southeast Missouri ( 957 Students ) It's tough to find competition close to home and I can see the travel is a problem. I'm sure the long bus rides are not fun and could affect play.
