Cameron: Beat Plattsburg 20-18. Week 2: @ Excelsior Springs
Chillicothe: Beat Marshall 41-13. Week 2: At home vs. Kirksville
Lafayette: Lost to North Kansas City 16-7. Week 2: At home vs. Carthage
LeBlond: Beat Pembroke Hill 41-0. Week 2: @ Van Horn
Maryville: Beat Lawson 39-0. Week 2: @ St. Pius X (KC)
Savannah: Beat Grain Valley 29-14. Week 2: @ Harrisonville
Smithville: Beat Pleasant Hill 28-0. Week 2: @Park Hill
Some great performances from week 1 in the conference. Cameron snapped their 11 game losing streak, Smithville beats their former head coach, Chillicothe shows improvement, Benton suffers heartbreak late, Lafayette scores early cant maintain offense, Maryville is well...... Maryville. Savannah is improving, and LeBlond shows explosiveness on Offense. We will see what week 2 brings with some good matchups

You say St. Joe Benton suffers heartbreak late, what happened? Didn't catch this game but I saw the 17-14 loss to Harrisonville. Harrisonville is no chump, sounds like it was a great game.

Benton had the ball inside the 5 and could punch it in. At least that's what I heard from a friend who was there.

Talked with the new Kirksville coach...I know they are not MEC, but watch this program in the next couple of years. New coach (former Defensive coach for them)..lost just three starters each side of the ball from last year, had just two juniors last year (found a couple more for this year's seniors).. next year, most of the team will be on their 3rd year starting....

I'll have to keep an eye out for them next year then. Possible broadcast option vs. Chillicothe. I should ask how did Chillicothe look Friday night to you? I saw they had a good performance. How were they by your opinion.

Well, they looked good at times, still some work to do. They'll get after it in practice this week and see what happens Friday night. (How's that for coach speak? LOL I've been around coaches too long)
I was pleased with the performance. only 1 of 3 passing for a touchdown, but the run game was working well. Had some new starters on both sides of the ball step up and have good games.
