McD All American candidates

Now admittedly I don't know a ton about the players outside of SWMO, but there's no way Ashton Judd should have been left off this list. She is at worst the second best senior in SWMO

Yeah no way Judd should be left off this list. She is WORLDs better than Moad, Perkins and Campbell, IMO.

That makes zero sense. She is the 2nd best player in SW Missouri in terms of ceiling and could be the best player right now.

Judd should absolutely be on this list as well as many others I can think of- not sure what they base these nominations on- lost all credibility with me.

I don't get it either. At the bottom of the list it says that all the info provided was from the "nominating coach, principal and/or athletic director". So I guess the schools nominate their own players?

Looking at the list from other states, I notice that there are multiple players from the same team in a lot of cases, which to me makes the whole thing even more dubious. I mean does Olathe North girls team really have 5 players worthy of being legitimate McD AA candidates?

This was at the bottom of the list. Players are nominated by someone at their own school.

If she was left off the list because her own school failed to nominate here then that is simply ridiculous

They send an email out to all coaches asking for nominations. Coaches nominate their own girls. I guess you can nominate a girl from another team but most coaches just nominate their own player or players.

Surely they are vetted by someone if they are nominated? But maybe not since as I said there are schools with multiple nominees. It really reduces the prestige of being selected knowing that many of the best players weren’t even nominated

The best players are nominated. Always. Judd isn’t a McD All-American. Being a “nominee” is like being listed in Who’s Who. Means literally nothing. Of course the actual teams are vetted. THAT selection being bought and paid for is another discussion entirely.

No she wouldn't ultimately be one. However she is better than 2 of the girls who were nominated.

Agree. And it’s not close. But being “nominated” doesn’t mean a thing. That’s all I was saying. It’s not a thing. There’s no prestige in it.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought that Judd got snubbed when I saw this list the other day.
