I understand the risk/reward equation for the player but it just wreaks of putting self over team. We try for 10 years to instill the "no I in team" concept and then pat the guy on the head for being smart. The "meaningless" bowl game in no less meaningless than any game played once eliminated from the championship race. Is there no legal obligation associated with a scholarship? No school is gonna press that because the kid has brought in big bucks for the school and could bring in more as an alumnus. Put me in the camp of being less likely to draft the guy who doesn't honor his commitments while fully understanding why he isn't.
