My guess is the teams they played in the regular season in 2021 are hurting the Smithville rating. Oh well, you can only play who is on your schedule.

And, surprise, surprise, I personally like these calpreps numbers better. Even if one is not sure about the Project a Matchup system, 7-0 is enough weight to say something.

In 2021, I did a projection for every game in the Class 4 State Bracket. Below was the record for each round, once the projections were recalculated for any games that were missed in the previous round.

160District Semis
62District Finals

The Smithville projected scores vs actual scores are below which are pretty amazing.

Is the Project a Matchup system any good? Who knows but based on these numbers it doesn't seem terrible and is all we have.

I'm curious, where are Calpreps and Maxpreps based out of.........?

I read this as Kearney hasn't been very good since the ole Cajun left K-Town

You guys need to meet up at the dirty, smarmy old gas station in ECTONVILLE and resolve this.

10-1 last year wasn't exactly bad. Minnick is 11-3 and that record is about to get lots better BUT the experience factor (this is the real reason why I posted Smithville's record vs. Platte County since 2015 showing Utz is the DEAN of HCs along this old dangerous 2 lane highway) works against him and his relatively young staff.

The SV program has reached a relatively high level. But not in the ballpark with the Jones or Thomas era of the K. Maybe it is a size thing? Being in the bottom half in C4 does not help.

Don't mistake anything I post for disrespect they are working wonders over that way. LOTS of kids out for FB and pretty much every one of them looks the part dressed and in pre-game warmups etc. Pretty special to have this among neighboring towns on the same Hwy.
