A WHIP of 1.65

He has walked 56 men in 98 innings.

Coming off the DL for a knee issue.

Velocity down this year.

YOU GO MO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go ahead and put my WS tickets on my Visa card baby.

Doesn't matter if this is their choice to keep running out this lineup then there is no need to waste a top prospect on pitching. You can't win without scoring! Ask SD Oh wait they are beating us

There is hope VB. Here is my plan

San Diego, one of the worst offensive teams in recent history, had
a .187 hitter and a .214 hitter drive in four runs a piece last night.
Maybe we can trade Kelly and Maness to an upcoming opponent
and get our offense turned around.

Re: There is hope VB. Here is my plan

Probably a better plan than getting a pitcher fresh off the DL who has been getting rocked all year. That had to inspire the team!!

Samardzija and Lester get moved. Colon, Lee, and Hamels rumored to get moved. Birds get Masterson...*Sigh* Why do I feel like this is 2010 all over again? That said, Birds offense has "produced" 3, 4, 3, 2, 0, 6, 6, 1, 1, and 1 runs in games since the ASB. Cy Young, Warren Spahn and Sandy Koufax would have trouble posting consistent W's with that garbage.

Jeff Sullivan is either on MO's payroll or he is a glass completely full kind of guy. Come on. The dude has 56 walks and 11 HBP in 98 innings. Good luck with that

Yeah pitching hasn't really been the problem. Only 2 teams have given up fewer runs in the NL. But only 1 team has scored fewer runs. Was hoping AJ might bring a spark. Maybe he will we'll have to wait and see. As bad as it's been they're still only 2.5 out. That's easily doable so it's not over yet. There's still hope that Wacha will be back in Sep. And maybe Yadi too. All it will take is AC getting hot to turn it around. Hard to believe he'll stink it up for an entire year.

Especially now that he can aim at the Monster in LF. Whoops.

The walks are a big concern.

They brought in Masterson to be a #4 who gets 6+ innings a game, not to replace Wacha. Cards SP are averaging fewer innings per start than any other NL team lately. That's with Waino being Waino. For us, finding a Suppan, a Lohse, or a Peralta who can eat some innings has real value. Hopefully he can do that.

I can't imagine the Birds taking on Lee's or Hamels's contracts. Phils would have to pay a ton to move Lee given that terrible 2016 option. I don't see the Cards taking on Hamels through 2018 - they like to keep the payroll more flexible than that.
