Marvin Burks Turns Scandal into 3 Power 5 Offers This Week!

Those kids would have been found at any school. This isn’t 1980. Kids can go from Potosi to KU, from Bonne Terre to Nebraska, from Park Hills to Ball State, from Ritenour to Indiana, from Pattonville to OSU, from Webster Groves to OU, from Eureka to Arizona, from McClure North to Minnesota, etc etc etc

They don’t all have to be on one team to be found. That isn’t being done to help them get scholarships. Putting together all star teams is being done so adults can blow up their egos.

I disagree duck. Playing on teams who get national recruiting attention spikes your chances. For instance Coach Edwards just signed a Kid from Cardinal Ritter Joe Moore, Arizona State as well just had a kid Drafted by the Bengals who went to Lutheran North last year.

These colleges are hearing about these 3 schools so they are going to flock to them. If you're recruiting Joe Moore and you're watching his game film you also will be looking at Bill Jackson play as well. Easier to get found if you're in front of more Eyes.

Is that an attempt to develop their talent or because no one their size will play them?

Um its CLEARLY for development. they could choose to play any school in the country. yet they are choosing the best competition possible. You think the only school willing to play Trinity is Coulquitt East St Louis and De La Salle????

TRINITY seeks those games for competition and exposure.

These schools cant help that MSHSAA is putting them in Class 2. They have no control over that. Football programs are here to win games and put kids in college thats the only purpose.

Nice story. I am sure a lot of kids are falling for it, which is why recruiting to the small privates has been going gang busters.

Ive said this before some of the kids arent even really worthy. Some arent even THAT good but because they play for these 3 schools they are getting some benefit of the doubt.

If you cant see that then I dont know what to tell you.
It may have started off as recruiting but at this point its selling its self.
I can only imagine the offers a Zach Westmoreland or Dervin Weathers from Webb would have if their Jersey said Cardinal Ritter or Trinity Catholic instead.

Exactly. You want development, go to DeSmet, CBC, SLUH, Vianney, or Chaminade.

Heck even Rockhurst

Tim Grundhard messed it up for Rockhurst. Now Bishop Miege is a destination school for talent. CBC? Haha...yeah, we had a third-string guy on our college team from there. He was a big shot in high school.

Lol enrollment is one of the things they can easily control and they’re one of the few schools who can. For example, they can turn away all the special needs kids they want

Uh I dont really see your point. Private Schools have admissions requirements for acceptance for Freshmen/Transfer students. Lutheran North/CR/Trinity have always strolled between Class 2 and 3 for football and thats with a multiplier. Always been small schools.

Sure makes things easier for college coaches, and the players too, and it is here to stay. The collateral damage is that in a few years, Missouri class c men's slow pitch will be a better league than Missouri class 1,2,3 football

Lutheran north was a class 3 in the 80's well before the multiplier. Valle was class 2 during that time period, early mid 80's for them. That is when class 3 was around 500 enrollment or more, north isnt even half that now. Dont know reason, someone can inform us.

Same reason Sumner had to combine with Soldan, people have moved further from the city. Same reason there are new high schools in Wentzville etc.
