Looks like Bill Jackson from Cardinal Ritter put up enough great film from this past year that he is still getting the same recruiting interest nonetheless. With no head coach and with being suspended the first 8 games next year.

Big kid 5'10 200lbs with good speed. Coach Herm Edwards from Arizona State (Former ESPN analyst) came to St. Louis 2 days ago and offered him a Scholarship in person. Purdue and Nebraska came in with offers as well. Looks like the National news brought in National offers!! Congrats to The Kid, looks like negative situation is turning very Positive!!!

Private Schools always win in the end....you losers.

Sept 7 Cardinal Ritter 27 Class 2 State Champions LN 13.

Note: LN had couple players out that game. Would of made for one heck of a rematch.
It would be an interesting rematch. LN's best linebacker Doyle wasn't declared eligible until conference play because he was with Hazelwood west part of last year, and Nebraska bound Transfer DL Ford wasn't yet eligible as well.

I see. Then that would make Ritter a team with bragging rights over being better than North in Week 2. It’s fair to speculate who would’ve won if they’d met in Districts. I guess it’s to be expected that Ritter fans (or North haters) would proclaim them to be the best in Class 2.

Are we talking about Marvin Burks, Bill Jackson, Bill Burks, or Marvin Jackson?
Just so you know I’m impressed with all their stats.

If that kid got a lot of offers it all boils down to one thing, his mighty might coach must have been incredible. Everyone knows that is what it takes to win big. A little league feeder program!!!!! Wooo woooo!!!!

It's amazing these kids are discovered before they even play a down in high school.....yet they wouldn't be discovered unless they went to one of these private schools. o_O

They would, they go to camps etc in the summer, camps get the most exposure

:D:rolleyes:
If you refer to Herm Edwards as an ESPN analyst, you can’t be over 25. The man made one of the most famous plays in NFL history as a player and was an NFL head coach for NYJ and KC, who gave a top 5 most famous rant and you think of him as an analyst? Really?
Miracle in the Meadows
"That's why we play the game!"
That pretty much ages me!

Which name will he use in college?
What classification will he be going in?

Yeah, except in Class 3,4, and 5. Bahaha.

I'm obviously not a hyper talented RB from a private STL school, but to me if Herm comes and personally offers me a scholarship I'm signing on the spot. Watch out for ASU I think they're gonna be ridiculous in a few years.

What good would that do you? Both you and ASU and Edwards would be in violation of multiple NCAA by-laws.

Kid gets beaten up here for violating the rules, and perhaps rightfully so. Then when posters discuss what they would do, it’s obvious they would be breaking all sorts of rules as well.

Which by law is violated by signing a LOI when offered a scholarship?

I'm no expert, but pretty sure you can't sign anything until your senior year.

You can commit, but committing and signing are different things.

Which by law is violated by signing a LOI when offered a scholarship?

A. You can't sign a LIO on the spot unless the athlete is a senior, and the scholarship is offered during the actual signing period. Which rarely if ever happens for obvious reasons. If the offer is made during the signing period, the athlete being offered has likely already been offered by someone else and is about to sign with them.

B. You can't sign a letter of intent your junior year or any other year except your senior year.

C. You can't sign a letter of intent outside of the actual signing periods. Each sport has an NCAA mandated signing period.

D. A verbal commitment is non-binding for all involved.

JN I know you're old as dirt and reading comprehension has left you, but Im so obviously saying here that IN THE END the Privates win. As in Getting full ride scholarships to universities that cost 40K a year and will probably start getting paid soon. I wasnt referring to the MSHSAA state championships. Hence the usage of the words "in the end"

I had no idea about any of that. Never went through the recruiting thing because I was kind of terrible at football.

Those kids would have been found at any school. This isn’t 1980. Kids can go from Potosi to KU, from Bonne Terre to Nebraska, from Park Hills to Ball State, from Ritenour to Indiana, from Pattonville to OSU, from Webster Groves to OU, from Eureka to Arizona, from McClure North to Minnesota, etc etc etc

They don’t all have to be on one team to be found. That isn’t being done to help them get scholarships. Putting together all star teams is being done so adults can blow up their egos.

It's a little league mentality, takethe biggest, strongest, fastest kids and then pat yourself on the back for winning with a stacked team. No development is really taking place.

"So adults can blow up their egos..." Nail in head.

That's taking place at places like IMG Academy. Little tiny private schools that collect a few D1 athletes are developing nothing by hollow victories.

Exactly. You want development, go to DeSmet, CBC, SLUH, Vianney, or Chaminade.

Heck even Rockhurst

Those places play on a national level and compete for National Championships and not state high school championships.

Yet they still come to Lutheran North Cardinal Ritter and Trinity so they must feel like they'll get better "development" at those schools.

Plus all 3 schools usually have some of the Toughest schedules in the State regardless of class. Lutheran North doesnt play a Class 2 school until Districts every year same with Ritter

Lutheran North:
Evanville Indiana
Nazareth Academy (Class 7A IL state finalist 3 straight Years), Homewood-Flossmor (Class 8A IL power)
De La Salle (Ohio Power currently ranked 63 in the nation)
Trinity
Cardinal Ritter
Chaminade

Trinity:
Colquitt County (Ranked Top 10 in the country at the time and one of the top programs in the country)
East St Louis TWICE (Winning Football program in IL and just won their 9th State Championship)
Also played De La Salle
SLUH
Cardinal Ritter
Lutheran North

Ritter:
Just started beefing up.
THEY BEAT Nazareth 32-21. Nazareth is a Private School Chicago 7A power.
Last 3 years they lost the state Final twice and lost to Cardinal Ritter. Only losses.

So as usual you guys dont know what you're talking about. these schools play very tough comp.

Is that an attempt to develop their talent or because no one their size will play them?
