Production vs expense. It's a no-brainer. Love the kid, unlucky enough to show he's made of glass. It's not his fault, but that's the business. Stay healthy, catch big passes, make the defense fear the vertical threat. Do this without costing us big time cash. I can't say it's not the right move. Is he a Hines Ward? Did he ever bring the threat that Andre Rison brought to KC? He will land on his feet with another team.

I read that too. I felt they had to cut either maclin or d Johnson to make cap room. Maybe they wanted to see DJ's progress before making a move.
