Wow. The KC area HS (Missouri) football has some fantastic football on the offensive side. It seems like every team can run it, reverse it, double reverse it, double reverse throw it, pitch it to HB and throw it, wheel it, fade it,slant it,, shovel it, option it, pass it, trap it, power it, zone it, bubblescreen it, to your little hearts content.Did I leave anything out? Geez. Oh yes just like the national trend in the college football captain obvious. I'm not speaking to Webbies, St lous, Jeffs, or any other place in Missouri, not even cool teams like Odessa. I'm talking big 4A- 6A football teams play in KC Suburban Conferences. So don't get your panties in a wad. There is truly an ongoing forever and ever past and present offensive frenzy going on and nearly every team can score.BUTTTT.... There are only a handful of teams that can play DEFENSE.

2. KEARNEY
3. FORT OSAGE
4. BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH
5. PARK HILL
6. LIBERTY NORTH

I could be missing a LS team here or there but from where I sit, this is what seperates the bad teams, though they can score from the good football teams. These teams can play some DEFENSE. Tell me I am wrong. Dare ya.

Absolutely, defense is what wins championships. I completely agree that defense separates the best from the rest

Agreed. They are really good. I ranked them #1. Kearney is #2 but it's like splitting hairs. Fort Osage the whole team tackles you every single play. Missed tackles don't matter cause 10 other guys a sniffing your bootie crack and throwing you around like a rag doll.

We spent last week overindulging on a 2 day Mississippi River Cruise on the Twilight porting at Dubuque and drove the river road both sides in the red Mustang GT coupe...FUN..!

Staley and Kearney are both very good teams, and I know a good therapist...

Being a defensive guarantor for 19 years in the 1980's and 90's the offenses have evolved into to 80% spread offense. Now you play with more defensive backs to cover all the receivers. Teams throw the ball so much more which lends itself to more scoring. Webb is unique in it runs the veer and still dominates and always will and they still play a very strong base defense, You have to throw them out they are very advanced in what they do because of
the program they run with young players. Most high schools don't put the importance on football like they do, so they can play old time football and dominate. Scoring is what fans want to see and it is fun for the kids defense is
what wins but is not what matters in most programs.

The number one goal is to make that place better when you leave, then it was when you got there. And teach your players something while you are there. If you are worried about getting fired you better look for a new profession. That could happen if you win state. Enjoy what you do. AND, If you believe you are doing the best for the players and school. Nothing else matters.
