I caught some of the Staley/LN game on TV last night before the storm.

1. I was wrong about LN, they are very physical and far from average, my apologies!
2. Why do Liberty and North still play at Jewell?
3. Can Liberty not afford a district stadium?
4. For a D2 school, Jewell's stadium looks horrid. That turf looks like it has been on that field for 20+ years.

I was watching on TV, maybe it looks better in person. Liberty is a HUGE town that seems to still be growing, seems like they could do much more with their own facilities.

1. Liberty North is far behind last year in terms of physicality on the line. Despite the flukey game and score last week (three crazy back-up QB turnovers by Kearney), LN was outgained 2-1 in all the offensive categories--and pretty much dominated on the line by Kearney most of the game.

2. I've wondered about the stadium situation as well. It has to be a "path of least resistance" thing. LHS has played at Jewell for a long time (over 50 years.) But three teams using the stadium as a home field takes a toll on turf. Although, I'm on it quite often, and it seems to be in decent shape.

3. Knowing William Jewell, they like getting the rental money. They still have a lot of gym equipment around from the 1980s in their Mabee Center.

As far as the stadium goes, the most obvious thing to do would be to put it up at North. Lots of room there. The blue bloods at "south" won't go for that.

There was some sort of ballot measure for a stadium a few years back, it got voted down by the taxpayers.

I wondered if there was a issue bond/levy issue. I have also heard North is already too small for their population and have trailers all around it? IIRC didn't they have a major issue in district administration a few years back?

When they have to build another high school in the next six years, they will have no choice but to build a new stadium. It is just a matter of time.
