Lets take a Look at 7 Equal classes

No dipshit because the current system isn't watered down. Obviously people van disagree with me as that backyard from Kearney and I disagree on everything but this topic which is weird. If anyone is acting like a bitch it's you.

I would say that if they did this, it would add a class to how far the success factor can bump them up, so in Ritters case, Class 6

In Valle’s case, Class 3(probably)

valle will be class 3 after next year anyways. I mean no matter what the honks say their districts are a complete and utter joke unless an STL superteam slips in there somehow. I doubt the football advisory folks let that happen again.

Class 7

Blue Springs 1842

Hazelwood West 1542
Kickapoo 1540

Park Hill South 1420
Jackson 1415
Liberty 1413
Oakville 1406
Francis Howell 1400
Rockhurst 1392 up 1 (cant)
Ozark 1376
Hazelwood Central 1360
Francis Howell Central 1359
Oak Park 1328
Central (St. Joseph) 1327
Truman 1319
CBC 1318 up 2 (cant)
Waynesville 1318
Seckman 1311
North Kansas City 1297
Kirkwood 1280
Fox 1263
Carthage 1260
Lafayette (Wildwood) 1259
De Smet Jesuit 860 up 2

Best breakdown I have ever seen for great competition across the classes - size levels better together. This year 4 was way out of whack. The Class 1/2 breakdown is also whack. Squeezing up Class 5s is just adding fodder for the big boys.

This uses next years DESE numbers with current year private numbers

Enrollment Breaks are

Class 1 is 91-181 44 Teams (duchesne is the top moving them to C2)
Class 2 is 188-300 44 Teams
Class 3 is 301-439 43 Teams
Class 4 is 447 - 604 44 Teams
Class 5 is 607 - 958 43 Teams
Class 6 is 973 - 1257 44 Teams
Class 7 is 1259 - 1842 43 Teams

Noone is over a 2.0 ratio
Every class has 43 or 44 teams
Will need 8 Districts with 5 or 6 teams in them in each class

Total Population vs. number of classes for football:

Missouri
6,150,000
6
Kansas
2,940,000
6
Iowa
3,190,000

Nebraska
1,960,000
4

We are not Even close to "watered down" with 7

Well that’s misleading Joey.

If I remember correctly, Kansas may have 6 classes but their classes are also split into something like sub classes so there are multiple state champions in each class. Or at least that was my understanding as of a few years ago.

Arkansas and Illinois have 7 and Oklahoma has 6.

I’m not for or against 7 classes for Missouri. Doesn’t matter to me either way.

If in some weird way, it helps preserve as many 11 man programs as possible, I wouldn’t fuss too much.

This is not the case. They crown only one state champion per class. Semifinal winners are called “Sub-State Champions” but that’s the same as saying “semifinal champions.”

I wasn’t sure. I knew in some of their smaller classes they had small and large divisions and I thought they crowned state champs for each.

every time i see this my blood pressure rises.

per student ratio of championships to # students is way off. Put 78 teams in C1 and C 2. Then split the rest evenly.

As presented here yes.

MSHAA's abomination? I dont see any other classes with 500 mile district games.

That’s on Mshsaa and their obsession with having 5 or more team districts.

4 team districts fixes that problem though I think 48 teams should have been the # they went with.

Football should be treated differently than every other sport as it requires the most participation.

I still think this was the best system we had - 4 team districts, top 2 move on. If you had a loaded district, it let 2 good teams move on. If you aren't in the top 2, then you don't have much argument and you were probably ready for basketball and wrestling anyways.

Pierce City will move to class 2 this year taking Adrian's place.

If “my” team is near the top of the class, I love the 7-class idea. If it’s at the bottom, not so much…

Arkansas

7A 16 Schools. Biggest Class...State championship like a conference.
6A 32 schools
5A 48 Schools
4A 48 Schools
3A 48 Schools
2A 32 Schools

Graduated alignment. The "equal classes" argument is nonsense. Lump borderline schools in with the mega schools? Only makes sense to the people from piss ant schools.

Don't worry your school will still figure out a way to stay the largest school in a small class so you can keep beating your chest about your state titles.

Okay clown...2013, in Class 5. Who was ranked #2 at the end of the season next to Lee's Summit West?

Bahaha. I can figure out the logistics of every community in the state and arrange them in order to make sure my school is at the top of an artificial break that changes annually.

MY POWERS are MORE INCREDIBLE than i EVER KNEW. YEZZZZ

The current system is the best. Play whoever you want first 9 weeks, then bracket up. Just need smaller districts for geographical reasons. 16 districts with 4 or 3 teams would be the best. One extra round of playoffs would be very good for the state.

More "district champs" and candy bars for everyone.

class 4 might have been the most watered down bracket in forever and yes that includes class .5.

At least class .5 portageville had a pulse. They beat a team kearney 'rolled' 35-13.

Joey scared kearney may have to actually beat someone in back to back weeks or something crazy.

Hmmm.

Adrian lost to Lamar 35-18
Lamar lost to Seneca 28-14
Seneca beat Nevada 40-36

Kearney turbo clocked Nevada (35-0 at the Half)

Bahahahaaa
