Lets all agree on something

We are talking about someone who was booted out of his states Supreme Court twice for failing to follow the laws of the US. Do you really need examples? Fine. Here’s an easy one: he thinks it should be illegal for Muslims to be in Congress. He thinks religious tests like that are ok. That’s a theocrat.

Roy Moore had shown long before the girl stuff that he was wildly unqualified for office. He does not respect the Constitution or the rule of law.

Still pretty general charges but a little more specific.
The truth is, you don't like Moores politics. Most Conservatives agree with his "not following the laws of the US" as you put it. Does he think Muslims shouldn't be in office or "it should be illegal"? You guys always twist the truth as far as you can to make it seem unacceptable.

I'm pretty sure he said he did those things and several women also said he did those things. He gave an apology for the conduct he spoke of in his interview. What else have you heard of that he has EVER apologized for? Nothing I know of in the last 2 years for sure. He won't even apologize for stuff he has lied about for the last 2 years when everybody knows he lied about them.

Well i'm "pretty sure" he said he could. I'm also "pretty sure" he apologized for saying it not doing it. You don't like him, I get it.

Not everybody 3r the 35% uneducated that Mr. Trump loves will believe anything Mr. Trump says even when Mr. Trump changes his stance from hour to hour they change right with him.

General charges? There's nothing general about what got him kicked off the state Supreme Court twice.

And, no, a real conservative does not agree with him not following the laws of the US. One of the core tenets of traditional US conservatism is the government, including the judiciary, is supposed to do exactly what the laws allow them to do - no more or less.

Judicial activism is supposed to be bad to conservatives. But I guess it's not when the activist does it for Jesus? What a double standard.

With Roy Moore, you don't actually have to twist the truth to make it seem unacceptable - he does it for you. Also, the exact statement is “Congress has the authority and should act to prohibit Ellison from taking the congressional oath today!” because he was a Muslim. His argument was that a Muslim is not capable of being in Congress because they can't follow the Constitution over Sharia law. It's a nutso argument, and it is the latter of your two statements. You really should look up what you're trying to defend before posting.

Roy also ought to look in the mirror...the man's argument as a Supreme Court justice was that his religion superseded the Constitutional rights of others.

Roy is the sort of guy you have to throw overboard if you want to be taken seriously as someone who truly believes in freedom of religion and the 1st amendment instead of using it as a smokescreen for Christians to do whatever they want but not anyone else. There are lots of conservatives who are good on this point. He's not one of them.

That hasn't really been in doubt. The pastor said it as a virtue to show Roy wanted (and found) a young woman who hadn't experienced the bad things most older women had. He used the word pure to explain Moores actions as virtuous. To you that is creepy and wrong. To many it's just smart.
Gross.

Was Moore doing what had been allowed until that point?
Not agreeing with NEW interpretation of OLD law and refusing it is why he is loved by true conservatives. Moore was rebelling against judicial activism.

What is your definition of a "real conservative"?

I noticed you gave the reason for Moores objection to Ellison but couldn't QUOTE it.
I believe Muslims shouldn't be elected for the same reason. It isn't a hatred of Muslims it is a lack of compatibility with Islam and the Constitution.

Just because you believe in everyones right to choose their own religion doesn't mean you think they should be allowed to serve any position. I believe anyone has the RIGHT to be a Nazi but I don't want them on the school board.
