I thought about 100 percent this would be Lee's Summit NORTH. Still shocked they lost to Belton............

Just like college basketball I just peek some at the regular season and wait for the postseason before really paying attention. Best of luck to Lee's Summit AND Kirkwood!

Lee's Summit fans know how their sisters on the North side feel. This is the first LSHS team to make the finals since 2005. That team was senior -laden with several seniors who would have been at LS West had it opened a year earlier. However they had a sophomore by the name of Danielle Adams that gave them the extra edge they needed.

After that class left, LSHS re-built behind Adams, and in her senior year did what North did this year. Ran the table during the regular season. They did get through their District then ran went up against Tyra White and her Hickman Mills team. It was an epic battle that Hickman Mills managed to pull out in the end.

That made HM the new favorite, but as can happen, the big win took a toll. Liberty knocked off Hickman Mills and went to the final four. They remained the underdogs in Columbia, but ened up winning it including an upset of the Columbia Hickman team led by Mike Anderson's daughter.

Adams and White went on to make their own history winning an NCAA championship at Texas A&M. Adams was the tournament MVP.

After an impressive two years at Jefferson College. I was told Adams was going to Mizzou until her grades forced her to the Juco route. Think how good Mizzou would have been with her for 4 years!!!
