Yes this years team has faced many challenges. Cassville was a learning experience. Maybe it’s not enough for this years squad. We’ll see next weekend.
Sorry, Sis. I’ve got no beef with Lamar. I’m just not a SWMO homer that hates STL and private schools. You express your opinion, I’ll express mine. If it aggravates you that I don’t agree with what you think ... well that’s just tough titty. Lamar won 7 straight championships. Super long win streak too. None of that impressed me to the point that I can’t see their weaknesses and discussing them might be uncomfortable for YOU, but it ain’t for me. As far as Blair Oaks vs LN goes, we’ll see what happens next Saturday. If it pains you to read my comments, then you probably shouldn’t read them ... because I won’t stop.
If you knew anything. At all. You’d know I have stated numerous times that LN can win this year. And Trinity could take it. Oh and let’s not forget CBC is a shoe in. So that kinda debunks your logic. I’m not a Lamar fan. I’m a big 8 fan. And like a team that’s already out of it. And practice self restraint? When have you ever not commented on posts about private schools? Here’s your answer. Anyone thinking Lamar is vulnerable because they struggled against Ava should look back to last year. Somehow they managed to overcome that to win number 7 against LN. They might get stomped next week or the week after but Lamar has earned the right to still be the favorite.
I don’t want you to stop bitching. I don’t post with the intention of getting you up in your feelings, but if it happens then I’m fine with it. If it becomes too painful for you, then I’m sure you’ll survive. I post to threads that interest me, so me doing it isn’t about lack of restraint or awareness. I’m having a GREAT one and, if you are too, then congratulations. I look forward to reading your comments and thumbs ups when the next line forms from butt hurt posters. With CBC, Vianney, MICDS, Ritter, Trinity and LN all in the semifinals, I expect you to be co-signing regularly ... and I seriously don’t want you to stop bitching.

Last year (or the previous 7) don’t have anything to do with next Saturday. If they’re your favorite to win, that’s great too. Hopefully they take the positive vibes and love you have for them and set them aside ... because if they don’t figure out how to cover receivers on defense they’ll get shredded. They won the semis last year vs LN. it wasn’t the Championship, even though I’m sure it felt like it was.
Does Lathrop have more players than Ava and how good do they defend the run ?
Ava had a great year..but they also lost I believe 8 or 9 two-way SR to graduation last year.. but again not a passing team.. stats don't lie! So defending the pass would make Lamar vulnerable, unless offensively you dominate..
Lamar graduated a ton as well. And Lathrop runs the ball. Defends the pass no better. No easy test for Lamar. But Lamar can win.
No expert on Lathrop have only watched highlights and talked to people from the area. But they are a run first team. Pass when needed. (Literally Lamar this season) and Lathrop is solid on defense. I don’t think you say the defense is any better at defending it than Lamar. If I had to bet money? They really haven’t been tested against defending the run. At least the type of running Lamar has. My thought on next weekend will be who gets key stops. Because both teams may be scoring with ease at times especially before the half. It may end as dramatic as Lamar’s Ava game did.

I wouldn't say Lathrop passes only when needed, but they are definitely run first. Primarily play action passing game, but also have a spread passing game that they can and will use, sometimes it seemed just for fun. They basically run 3 offensive formations... Wing T, Single Wing, and Doubles. But, they do a lot out of all three. That being said, I think they are better on defense than on offense. Just what I've gathered from the 9 games I've watched.
